Looks like someone over in the SA thread got an invite to a June class, and someone previously mentioned chatter from the same thread about an invite to an August class.

On a slightly unrelated note, does anyone know how many people applied for the 2018 IA posting vs. how many made it to background? Just curious how many of us are in this round of applications.

That’s a good question, I wish I knew. Also would be helpful to know how many of us have already been through Q.

About a month ago, I went through all the posts on this thread and noted every user name that mentioned a 2018 IA application and what their last post was. Sixty-seven users (including myself) said they applied in 2018. Here's a breakdown of status by last post:

1 Only mentioned applying
2 Reapplied in 2020
3 Moved to different agencies' application processes/ forums
8 Failed Phase 2
9 Confirmed passed Phase 2
2 Failed Phase 3
6 Confirmed passed Phase 3
5 Confirmed received CJO
2 Failed the poly
2 No update after taking poly/ second poly
2 Received suitability denial
14 in BI
11 made it to Q

I don't know what the total number that applied are, and some may have made it farther than they posted, but it helped me to know that there are more who have NOT been to Q than who have.

Edit: The 2017 FB Live Event with Ms. Tamburrino mentioned they expected 10k applicants in 2018. I have not been able to find confirmed numbers on that.

Any updates for anyone? I heard from those I listed on the SF-86 update form that they'd indeed been contacted by investigators. Still haven't heard anything about a June or August invite.

Does anyone know why an application would be put “on hold” on the fbijobs site? Thanks.

Nothing for me.

The investigator that called me recently said she was responsible for handling the update I provided on the SF86C. She asked for a couple of names, which I gave her, and both references were contacted within a few hours of me getting off the phone with her.

No further updates even though I reached out to both my AC and the person who sent me the update forms to make sure they didn't need anything else (no response from either, but I can't say I'm surprised). No portal date change for me.

Nothing going on in my world...

Tenacious, was this the first time your references were contacted or the second time? All my people were contacted back in 2019, I think.

The second time. First time was initial contact over a year ago; this time was to contact my new supervisor since I'd started a new job in the interim.

Hmm. Well I'm hoping that my updates were simply too small for anyone to follow up with me...

On an unrelated note, I just had a dream last night that they rejected my application a long time ago and forgot to tell me. This process is maddening ha...

Have you been able to get in contact with someone at your FO to ask for an update? Your phase III date was before mine, so I think it's okay to nudge a bit for info.

No idea. I have never read of anyone else mentioning this on any other thread on the forum. You should def reach out to your local FO contact/AC.

No updates for me. Only thing I mentioned on the background update form were my new supervisors (same job). I had worked with them since about August, but it was an overnight shift (1900-0700) without traditionally set off days. I actually moved to day shift about a week after sending the info back, but they already contacted my current supervisor on the initial call a year ago. Night supervisors haven't mentioned being contacted, but I only spoke to them at work and I haven't seen them in a couple of weeks.

Someone from the SA 2020 thread (a quoted post around pg 45) mentioned that they had this in their portal. Apparently when they clicked on it, it said they needed to submit required information.

Does yours show any additional info if you click on that "on hold" button? Have you also checked the notifications section of your portal to make sure you haven't missed a communication somehow? If you can't get any further information through your portal, I would echo IAdreamin and suggest trying to get in contact with someone at your local FO.

If you get it all sorted out, come back and let us know what it was all about!

There's been a lot of chatter in the SA thread about vaccinations. Just wanted to check - do IAs need to provide that documentation as well? I never heard anything from my FO about immunization, so I'm wondering what others have heard. (I assume the SAs talk about this because it's related to their medical exams.)

The immunizations are an SA requirement - they actually list out in the SA candidate packet which ones they are required to have (https://www.fbijobs.gov/sites/default/files/how-to-apply.pdf). It is just a part of their medical process--makes sense considering that they will have more regular contact with the general population than an IA will.

If you take a look at the IA version, immunizations are not listed (https://www.fbijobs.gov/sites/default/files/intelligence_analyst_candidate_information_packet.pdf).

Has anyone else received their standard email this month? I may be speaking too soon (considering there’s still a day left in the month), but I didn’t receive anything this month when I’ve had at least one email from them every month since last January after I did my PSI and poly.

My last email was 2/11/21. My first was 12/19/19. Just a little over a year. I've heard others say they usually stop around the 1 year mark.

Ah, yeah I misspoke. I do have one from 12/16/19 about being in background after I sent in my CJO three days prior. I didn’t scroll back far enough. My last was 2/8/21. Good to know, although a part of me was hoping it meant something lol

My first one came in July 2019, and my last one was in September 2020. I know that I am still in background (hopefully nearing adjudication since I filled out update paperwork recently), so I think it is reasonable to estimate that they do just stop after a while. Definitely come back and let us know if you find that your change correlates to some movement in your process!
