Anyone apply to this announcement and receive the email today? Anyone know what the hiring steps in the process are like?

I got the email today, but I don’t know the hiring steps.
Hopefully the process is completed fairly quickly.

I got the email as well. I have just received a tentative offer for a contact rep job with the IRS, but would prefer this one honestly as I have passed all my testing for a CPA.
Not sure what the hiring process will be for this job. I know often fingerprinting is required for a lot of positions, as well as a background investigation initiated through e-quip.

Thank you for creating this topic. I received an email as well. "Upon further review of your application and qualifications, you will be contacted regarding your eligibility. You will be receiving correspondence via e-mail or by telephone, informing you of the next step of the application process."
Not 100% sure what the next step is. I will keep everyone posted on future communication I get about this position. Good luck, everyone.

I am currently working as a "IA" and the next step should be to rate the applications, ie Best Qualified, Qualified etc and then forward to hiring authority. At least that's how it was done for the Detail I was selected for. A lot of people working this as Detail will be reapplying as well. Good Luck everybody as they will be hiring about 28 I think.

Thank you for the information Mopar Guy. Good luck to you as well. Do you think they will fill the position before the end of the year?

Haven't heard anything on exact time frame, have been told they will fill as quickly as the system allows.

So the people that were hired with your detail were not hired on a permanent basis...so they have to apply again? Or is this position all together not a permanent position?

I applied in November last year, got a tentative offer 7/31, and am still waiting for the call. Hoping y’all have a shorter process. With federal hiring you have to have the "if it happens, it happens" mentality.... otherwise you will drive yourself nuts. You haven't even hit the one year mark.. which is short compared to other agencies. I was recently in the hiring process with another agency for over 2 years (completed every step including background), before getting a letter that I was not selected.. and given no reason why. I just created this thread in hopes of getting a little more info about the steps in the hiring process. Thanks.

AZcactus42, It depends on which Field Office hired you, for some we were told it was a Detail that could be made Permanent without reapplying, when asked if we should reapply no one seemed to know, so most reapplied just to be safe, was told it could be a way to be made Permanent sooner, some people were put in the position to gain more experience, others BQ (Best Qualified) and are just waiting to be made Permanent at the conclusion of the 12 months.

I did apply for 7 - 9 - 11 - 12 and did receive emails that I am suitable for further review. It's been a month and yet didn't receive anything else.
Is that normal? How long does it take for them to proceed with the process?
Any idea?

Just received update from SAC on this process, The Pilot Program is basically over. The staffing levels have been approved and prior to making any of the Detail positions permanent they must complete the RPP process for any displaced workers if they qualify, so you will see another posting for just those displaced workers. The IA's in the Pilot who have successfully completed the detail will be made perm. Once that is decided they will begin to interview from the list for remaining openings. Hope this helps, Good Luck!!

Won't the process take a while if the displaced workers need to interview?

Did anyone also apply to:
Announcement: 18CE3-CIX0157-1805-12-KB Position: Investigative Analyst
On March 15, I received an email with a category rating for that position and was wondering if others did as well.
Also, does anyone know where the hiring process is at with these positions?
Thanks.

The IA's in our Field Office that were selected for the Detail have all just been informed we have been made permanent. For the IA 7/9/11. I would expect they will begin the process of selecting from the list for all remaining open slots, not sure how many that is, or how long the next steps will take. Hope this helps :)
