She eventually called me back last Friday and told me my offers officially. She did not provide a specific start date but she did mention that we were looking at mid-April. As someone mentioned before, I would not say a start date is set until a budget is passed. I’m a GS-8 step 3 now in Kansas City, MO so they converted me to a GS-7 step 7 in Miami (Leaving Kansas City POD to Miami POD). Normally, if you don’t have specific experience and/or a degree related directly to the series of a RO they will make you start at a GS-7 (step whatever is applicable) which is entry level for this position I believe. I thought I qualified for a 9 and applied for it but didn’t get it. Fortunately, the GS-7 step 7 salary in Miami is only $1,021.00 less than a GS-09. Just giving an update on what I’ve experienced so far.

My POD is Miami. You’re going to love your OJI, he’s a great guy and very knowledgeable.

I also know who your manager will be.

A couple internals are stepping down from a gs9 to a gs7. We should be eligible for pay retention.

@Shell1207 I would not lose hope until you get an email stating that you didn’t get it. You’re still in the running until then. I never lose hope until I get the “we regret to inform you” email or call...Try to stay as optimistic as you possibly can! Good luck! and thanks for the congrats!

I applied for a position in Queens, NY and Bethlehem, PA I have not heard a thing from them. I’ve heard from all the POD’s I chose except for the Northeast region. I was thinking the exact same thing. Maybe they are waiting for some reason.

It’s possible the pod you applied for are going to be filled in the second round of hiring. If that is the case you are not a priority at this time

I am kind of lost and understand that things will kind of be behind since the shutdown. However, I'm an Internal applicant. I took the ROSA haven't heard any thing and then the shutdown. A few days ago my application went from being reviewed back to received. I applied for locations between Tennessee, Georgia and Florida. I'm guessing I didnt make the cut.

Internals aren’t required to take the ROSA. Did you apply for the internal and external announcement just in case you didn’t get the other? I always apply for both.

Just making sure I understand. People who are getting their grade is because their POD is starting the interview/contact process?

@jazzy. Same here :( I was contacted by other areas but nothing in New York or PA. Someone else on this forum mentioned priority locations. I don't know if New York or PA are priority locations. And...I don't know how to find out :(

I’m not sure how to find out either. I left it alone because I got an offer from Miami and that was my number one POD choice. I would ask someone from HR that has already contacted you in reference to other POD’s in an email to see if they may know. Otherwise, I would just wait patiently. They have to eventually let you know something.
