There will probably be a hiring.

I’m slate to be an OJI for the next hire class. (Lucky me).

But I doubt it’ll be announced before April 21.

We can’t go to the field, so until we can it doesn’t make a lot of sense to hire anyone.

My assumption is after wide spread vaccinations have happened.

Scotty, you hear about how a wave started just as all the lockdowns happened, back in April?

Imagine going through your first year and not seeing anyone.

In my neck of the woods I have it on good authority that we won’t even be returning to offices en masse til late 2021, if that. For Field, crickets.

I know this was an issue in the z Maitland POD. It's a hard enough job to learn when you're in the office and field the first year. I can't imagine doing all your training virtually and all contacts over the phone.

I suspect it will take them longer to be come good at their jobs.

If they ever do. Having never conduct a face to face interview and now not having an OJI is going to be difficult for them

Did anyone else RSVP for the RO virtual information session? I found it on IRS’s Linkedin page.

Nope. I’m already and RO.

But the service sent a request for ‘ambassadors’ to go talk at local colleges to encourage people to apply.

And honestly. It’s a good time to work for the Govt.

And young people with student loans. You can take advantage of the public service loan forgiveness.

The job announcement is coming soon on USAJOBS

Just had the info session on Zoom. The group manager from CA said that the service was hiring 300 ROs. Internal announcement was going to be posted on 2/22/21 and the external was going to be posted on 3/1/21.

I’ll be a much better OJI

I noticed. I also noticed how one location was listed on the announcement post, however, it wasn't listed as a choice of locations on the application itself.
