Internal Revenue Service

As a bureau of the Department of the Treasury and as one of the world's most efficient tax administrators, the IRS role is to help the large majority of compliant taxpayers with the tax law, while ensuring that the minority who are unwilling to comply pay their fair share. (Source: www.irs.gov)

I received the TO and signed paperwork last Monday. I haven't received the GSA email to schedule fingerprints yet. I was told I may not have to fingerprint because mine are already in the system. I just want to be sure that is accurate and I don't miss out. My supervisor and manager, at my current agency, came up to me today and said IRS is requesting a release date. So I hope this is a good sign.

Definitely on your way. This is the last step, if I recall correctly, other than starting on your start date. Congratulations!!

Hello all I was referred for the INTAKE TECHNICIAN *6 MONTH ROSTER* (INTAKE ADVOCATE)
19CE3-TAX0112-0503-05-LM. Does anyone know someone who work in this position. I read the job duty from the site but I am curious about the position in depth.

I did a very short detail in intake it is similar to a contact rep instead of screaming at you on the phone you get to have the taxpayers scream in your face.

In all seriousness you help people in whatever way you can and it is very limited what you can do. Most people come seeking tax advice or help to do their taxes. After a taxpayer waits 2-3 hours you have to tell them the IRS doesn't prepare individual tax returns and cannot advise you on the procedures you need to follow. Please find a tax professional or read the tax guidelines. Thank you have a good day and no my mother is not a dog.

Thanks for the fast reply. I will take the contract position I received last week instead and I am waiting for my HSPD-12/USAccess and the eQIP. ..

How is that different from the individual taxpayer advisory specialist?

First tip - Make sure you make an appointment at a "Shared Location". Made the mistake of going to the IRS Only location and found out that it's only for employees.

Second tip - Your picture will be taken for your ID card so dress professional.

Other than that it's pretty straight forward... They verify your identity with the documents you provide, ask a few questions, process fingerprints, take picture and done.

Thanks..For the info. Yes I made the same mistake by clicking on employee only icon. However, I did cancel the appt and change it to a shared location. Thanks again

I was able to do it at an IRS only location in SFL.

I got a TO (19CS5-SBX0012-512-7/11-GO) today.

Anyway, I had to decline it. It was Fort Worth, TX
Hopefully that opens up a spot for someone.

I started with DCAA this June and don't plan to move unless its in the area where I'm currently located.

@Woodytech21

The test is done electronically. No ink and cards. The examiner will slightly roll you fingers on a laptop(scanner) using fingerprint software. There is code to estimate if the fingerprints were done correctly, Do not want to do it again. If for any reason the examiner is using ink go to another place. Ink is more error prone. Verify the type of payment they will accept. Should be about $25.

Good luck

Edit:

Overly dry hand or overly sweaty can cause problems. The examiner may give u lotion or a wipe.

I don't know why you had to pay. Did you not have a sponsor? They should be free.

The EQIP is the bigger background investigation. For the public trust background check, it shouldn't take you any longer than 2 hours to complete.
