Disability Retirement

The federal government allows employees who are unable to work to retire under a disability retirement. It is in the best interest of both employees and the federal government for employees to remain gainfully employed in their current grade or pay level, as long as they can provide useful and efficient service without endangering themselves, others or government property.
Disability retirement should be the very last option and should be used only when attempts have been made to preserve an individual's employment, and those attempts have failed.

Order our Disability Retirement guide to educate yourself on the rules and regulations concerning disability retirement for federal employees.

I realize this might be a statement of the obvious to most of you, but I'm new so I figure I get to ask it anyway:

What is the deal with the Boyers "customer service" number? Does that constant busy signal mean it's really always busy or is it out of commission?

Greetings,

Just dialed. Works. No busy signal. Just straight to the COLA message. You may have been calling during peak hours constantly.

Of course if you do get a person, they don’t seem like much help.

gembarok, thanks for the reply. But that really surprises me as I called at various times of the day at least 3 different times.

Anyway, besides the COLA msg, did a customer service rep ever come on?

OK, I got through also, listened to the lengthy COLA announcement then was put into the options menu. All good.

Greetings,

Since I didn't have a question, other than asking if they were busy, I didn't wait on a rep. I have called OPM a lot and have rarely had an issue with getting through to an customer service rep. I've been "accidently" hung up on after waiting and on a rare occasion received the busy signal. Maybe I have been phenomenally lucky and need to play the lottery. :)
