I was hired as a fed employee back in Dec 2017. This year I applied and I was recently hired into a developmental program that provides Student Loan Repayment. I recently called to follow up about payments since I have been on the job for 2 months and then they alerted me to my current issue. Apparently current employees do not qualify for this recruitment incentive and the HR person apologized for sending me the wrong paperwork to complete. He said that I should have not receive the document stating I was being offered student loan repayment, instead I should have received paperwork stating I was ineligible. What can I do? I am being told that the money is centrally funded and this is Copper Cap policy, but I was hired under the premise that this would be paid. Any advice is appreciated.
