I am currently a DOD contractor with a CAC card. I have accepted a tenative offer to be brought on as a GS employee that requires a secret clearance.

My question: I have a juvenile charge for burglary (3rd deg felony) from when I was 17, which has been expunged. I was skateboarding at a highschool after hours and got arrested . i attended a course for a couple months and also completed community service. I am now 29 and am wondering if this would stop me from getting a clearance. I have no other arrests or drug use . i did have a deliquent account Over 180 days for collection , which was $400, but it has been paid off. Otherwise really good credit.

Im super nervous about not being able to get the clearance. Any insight would be appreciated.

Thank you

it shouldn't, as long as you don't try to cover it up. If the question asks "Have you ever...?" answer it even if the issue was expunged. The investigator will find out (expunged doesn't mean it doesn't exist in any database any more, despite what some people think!). If it asks "In the last 10 (7, 5..) years, have you....?" base your answers on that timeline.
