How long does a regular security clearance take? And once completed will I be notified? Anywhere I can check to see status or if I have it?

I am in finance for the Air Force FYI and my job has a security clearance ... I am also an AF veteran who got out in 2010

No one can answer your question within anything but a WAG.

It all depends on your location (local workload), how well you filled out your eQIP, any issues developed/reported, and the CAF backlog.

I am in a mid-sized metro area and we are closing cases that were opened this fall - but I notice they sit waiting for review or adjudication after we close them.

*DISCLAIMER*Correctly filling out your security forms will not guarantee you a clearance in 3 months BUT be sloppy and your case will be in the field a heck of a lot longer, guaranteed.
