I retired at the end of November from the Navy with an active Secret clearance. I obtained a job with a DOE contractor at a nuclear facility in project management. The position requires an L level clearance. For some reason, reciprocity was denied by the DOE, so I had to submit a new clearance request.
Does anyone have personal experience and can shed some light on this or have any general information on how long an Interim clearance for the DOE takes to come back? I was told 4-6 weeks for the interim decision. Any truth to that? Hopefully someone has been through the same experience. Thanks in advance.

Interim clearance is typically 4-6 weeks, as you were told. Do you have reason to believe otherwise? The new hire timeline thread is a good resource.

Thanks FrankJr. No reason to believe otherwise, just wanted to see if anyone has experienced first-hand something different.
