As a TSA employee, I'm eligible to join the American Airlines Credit Union which has competitive interest rates on deposits and loans. Their online application is asking for an "employee ID number". Where would I find such a number? Do we even have employee ID numbers?

Hmm - I didn't see any numbers on the front of the PIV, but there are several number sequences on the back.

On the back, in the center of the card, 10 digit number...

Alphanumeric rather than strictly numbers, right?

Thanks!

Your employee ID number is probably going to be your SSN. I believe the numbers on PIV cards relate to the card itself, not necessarily the employee.

They got away from putting the SSN on the cards.

Mine is ten digits, all numbers.

In either case, neither the employee identification number nor the social security number should be distributed to 3rd parties. A redacted copy of the ID may or may not be appropriate to fulfill a requirement for 3rd parties.

Well, we give our SSN's to all kinds of organizations that heve nothing to do with federal employment, but yeah, I don't know how comfortable I feel sending info off the PIV card.

I put in "NA" for employee ID, so we'll see if that suffices.

Does TSA use WebTA? If so, you can access your timesheet summary and see if your employee ID is listed there (assuming TSA issues agency employee IDs). My agency issues discrete employee IDs that are not related at all to the employee's SSN or PIV Card. In WebTA, it is listed under the employee name when viewing the timesheet summary.
