Is it required or strongly encouraged to list your supervisor and contact details for each job listed on a federal resume?

Im not at the point where I want to share with my current employer that I am applying for other jobs so that could be an awkward conversation if someone contacts my supervisor for a reference check.

Thoughts?

Just choose the menu item that says "Contact me first" before contacting this supervisor. They won't always respect that though.

I explained it this way... I'm applying for jobs with the federal gov't. My chances of being selected are about the same as me winning the lottery. You wouldn't be upset if you found out I'd bought a lottery ticket, would you? this is the same thing.
