For NACLC checks for DoD personel does NBIB use the FBI NICS database (for determining eligibility for firearms) to determine federal employment suitability? I know the name check system is used but there is zero info on whether the NICS is used. Just kinda curious.

No. We don't call a toll free number and ask if you are clearance eligible.

Teasing aside, your full FBI record using your fingerprints (or lack of a record) are provided to the investigation provider (NBIB being the best known) then to the adjudicators.

@BackGdInvestigator What shows up on the FBI records check? Just doing some research on clearances and the process. I appreciate all the help, thanks!
