I'm with Objection. Once the freeze is over you'll be back on track with a vengeance

Hi Everyone,

Even with the freeze, does anyone know if they will give FO to applicants who have gotten TO and fingerprinting before the freeze is lifted? Some of us may have to relocate to our selected state and would need ample time.

@Lovebeauty,

I dont know the answer to that for certain, but I would think anyone with a TO would stay in a holding pattern (if this freeze is nationwide). They are still moving forward with positions outside of HCO.

Here's an interesting thing for those who received a FO after a long wait, I was informed by the person who took my prints that I was "adjudicated" in August 2019. I had been told that there was a hold up with security office of them saying "cleared".

@Fedhelpme,

Thank you. Just got an email yesterday from my HR Specialist, asking if/when I completed my fingerprinting. I emailed her this morning the date I had them completed. So i guess this is a good sign.

I have the same issue, although I’m aware that my prints are cleared due to my current clearance renewal with my agency. It seems OPM and IRS are both having their own internal issues.

Was just told that HCO was told to move forward with those who received TO's. Expected EOD in January they're saying.

I started in HCO on Tuesday but haven’t heard about a hiring freeze.
It took 2 months for my prints to come back and for me to get a start date. HR is completely overwhelmed and disorganized in regards to getting offers out and processing new hires.
People have notified HR that they’re declining offers yet word never gets back to managers so the day the new hire is supposed to show up the hiring manager calls the person who then tells the mgr they declined the offer weeks before.

However, I can say once you start the people are extremely friendly, and the job seems interesting.

Don’t give up, keep being persistent!!

My office said they're expecting many many more HR Specialist to come onboard in the near future (expecting January for my location). I would say dont turn down anything unless you have an equivalent or better offer elsewhere.

Didn't turn down. Supposedly have start date of 12/9 but have not gotten FO. Was told by my HR guy at current job the IRS HR would be sending out next week. That gives me a very short time to move and get settled. I just hope it is all worth the stress.

My HR rep is telling me 12/9 is planned too, but logistically I don’t think I’d make that coming from overseas. Additionally, like most, they don’t have my fingerprints results “official word” yet, though I know they are cleared due to my current agency’s security renewal. Limbo-mania.

@collvm,

It has been worth the wait for me this far. Now that's only 3 days in. The people are super nice and there's no formal dress code which is surprising considering where I came from. Folks are wearing Jeans. I even saw one person in shorts as cold as it is.

You can always negotiate another start date due to circumstances. Nothing to lose doing this. Especially if you're overseas. I was only given a 2 week notice of my EOD.

Fedhelp me,

Wow, it is that laid back, this might be nice then in regards to not stressing over work attire, lol. I just care about the friendliness of people. I am glad that everyone has been nice.

Just a suggestion - with two of the folks in HR group, would you two (or more) folks do a Q&A session - in Discord, slack, anything that works for the majority of folks here? This should help a lot of folks who have been waiting. This forum works so this is strictly a suggestion if it works out.

@Everyone,

Thank you guys for all the information and the humor included (LOL). Like collvm said it help relax you a bit about the whole thing. Glad to hear you can negotiate your EOD date. That may be something I consider if given a short notice to start.

I start on 12/9. The CR has been extended to 12/20 btw if anyone is interested. They are trying to get folks in before then if there's an issue with the CR. Chances are they will just extend it again.
