Social Security Administration

The Social Security Administration (SSA) is an independent agency of the United States federal government that administers Social Security, a social insurance program consisting of retirement, disability, and survivors' benefits. To qualify for these benefits, most American workers pay Social Security taxes on their earnings; future benefits are based on the employees' contributions. (Source: Wikipedia)

I had an interview for the claims specialist in Baltimore on the 9th . My references where contacted the same day. Well last week i got an email that stated i passed the meal an deal interview an i was eligible for the position.
Does this basically sound like i got the job and shd be getting a offer letter soon? Or is them calling my references and sending me that letter just basic protocol?
