Good afternoon,

I'm trying to do a survey of people who have already been selected and hired for an IT position within the last month. I was told that I was a selection, I have selected status in USAJOBS, and now I'm sitting here waiting for a tentative offer. I'm rolling into a month of waiting for a tentative offer. Looking through the amount of hires throughout this forum, I'm trying to get an understanding if there are any IT hires/tentative offers/final offers within the last month.

I’m bumping this one back up. I’m trying to figuring if all this mass hiring is purposely bypassing IT.

I have been contacted for an IT Specialist (GS-9) position in the IRS RAAS division, which I applied back in May and interviewed in mid July. The hiring manager recently contacted me and I talked with him on September 13 for a verbal offer. I am still waiting for an official tenetive offer letter since the HCO is apparently slow. Hopefully I will get the offer letter soon so I can sell my house and look for another.

Hope this helps.

I’ve recently received verbal offer as well for a similar position but at the time they didn’t have a tentative start date for me. Did you get one when they reached out to you?

I received an email from the hiring manager that interviewed me that wanted to talk to me a bit. It mentioned an offer.

Great news averageperson. Do you know where you are going to be? How did your status change during your
progress during the wait to the TO.

Congrats!

Yes it says the location and start date, but I’m still trying to get clarity. Based on what a lot of these people are saying here, I know certain things are not clear in the beginning.

This particular announcement took almost two months. They were reviewing it for the entire month of September and then yesterday it said selected.

I just found out today that the status changed to Selected, which happened yesterday. I am glad that I will receive the tentative job offer soon. The process was long from the interview and I know that the HCO is backlogged, but it's good to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Curious as to how did you get a tentative start date without any processing / fp done?

I have no start date yet, but the job I got selected for had two locations in Utah and Washington DC and I picked DC when asked during the interview. The position in question is IT Specialist Data Management. I had prior 1 year federal experience in Data Management.

Posting the message below on behalf of NonIRS2LikelyIRS:

Question for averageperson (his inbox is full). so adding other folks for the posting

I am a new user and can't post message. If you can respond to my question in the forum that will be great. Seems like I am also similar situation like you. I got selected for a IT (DB) position. USAJobsGov status updated to 'selected' last Thursday (9/26/2019) and trying to get an idea when to expect communication from HR. I haven't received any e-mail or call as of today (9/30/2019). In one post you mentioned you were 'selected' weeks ago and another post you mentioned the usajobs 'selected' status update was like mine on last Thursday. Would you mind clarifying? I am selected for DC location.

Another update, I received another selection for IT Specialist (Security) from a 12-month roster, which changed yesterday without an interview. Both of the jobs I got selection for are GS 9 and goes to a GS 12, but this has multiple locations, meaning I don't know which location yet, although I picked a location in the DC metro area. I will take which one I will receive a final offer first.

Congratulations!

It seems that IRS wants folks to start within the CR timeframe.

Now I see a onboarding link for the IT Specialist (Security) in the CareerConnector as of yesterday, so I should receive a tenative offer letter for that position soon.

I sent a message to my hiring manager on Thursday and replied on Friday and he apparently asked the HR for status on Wednesday. Hopefully I will get my TO for the IT Specialist (Data Management) position soon this month.

I received my TO for IT(Database Management) position on last Friday (oct 11) and accepted it the same day. TO says "Once we receive these forms, you will receive an email within 24 to 48 hours from the General Services Administration (GSA) about scheduling your fingerprint/credentialing appointment at a USAccess station. Please schedule and complete your appointment within 5 days of the notice from GSA." It is a week now since I accepted the offer but yet to receive any FP e-mail from GSA. Any one in the same boat? If you have any insight about how long it takes for the FP e-mail to come - please drop a line or two?
