Anyone have experience with using NSA/DoD relocation? I'm not at that spot yet in the process, but wonder how the process may/may not work. Would my girlfriend be able to move with me on base or not? We live together but on her lease. Would they pay to break her lease?

Thanks in advance.

Short answers...no and no.

The former requires people living on base to be able to access it normally or be related to those who can (ie DoD civilians whose spouses are not mil or civil service can get them passes to be able to access the base. A girlfriend or even fiance do not classify as relatives).

As for the lease...it isn't yours or your spouse's, so no. All PCS benefits are for the member not others.

If you marry ASAP, then the above may change.

Thank you for the reply! I appreciate it. Definitely not a good reason to get married.

Slight thread hijack: Does anyone know if there are single apartments (or something similar) at Meade? I am single and may become a civillian employee soon. I don't want to live in a shared situation (like a barracks or sharing a 4 br house with 3 other employees, etc). Not sure if it's all full-family houses or not...

I was looking at it and I saw Corvias for on base housing. Looks like they have single room housing. They also offer roommate matching if you need it.
