In the original job posting it stated "We expect to make a final job offer within 80 days after the closing date of the announcement". I assume this means we'll hear whether or not we're offered a conditional job offer or are proceeding in the hiring process within 80 days of the closing date.

Do people mind sharing their backgrounds like just a quick education/work experience? It sounds like they want people with computer/IT backgrounds since the DEA websites say the IRS has to be adept at doing cyber investigations and pattern analysis i have no idea what any of that is.

I have a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice from hampton university in 2017 a MPA with a focus in government and policy in June 2019. I've worked for the federal government in the Department of State as a management analyst for 2 years and can't wait to work for the DEA dream agency right here.

I have never worked for the Federal Government. I have an integrated master's degree from a foreign institution in linguistics and world literature and I currently pursue an undergrad certificate in Homeland Security. I moved to the States 7 years ago and I have been kind of stuck in retail and financial services. My dream is to work for USCIS either as an ISO or AO and have a meaningful job that is not about sales but serving the U.S. and making a real difference in people's lives.

I wish you the best and hope your dream will come true!

I am still working on finishing my Bachelor's in Criminology which will finally be done in May. I spent 6 years as an intelligence analyst in the military, once I separated I became a criminal intelligence specialist with a DoJ entity, and I have since transferred and am currently working as a contractor with the DEA filling an intel analyst position. I will say that I've seen a few familiar names from the diversion forums here, and I wanted to warn you that you should be expecting a similar timeline. The last few people that have come on board through this position have averaged anywhere from 3-3.5 years from application to start of training. They are actively working on improving the hiring process and I'm hopeful that we will get to see some of the benefits of that. I just wanted to say good luck to everyone and remember to be patient.

So I don't know if anybody applied for the Schedule A announcement in July but if you did the lady told me we will get a call by Wednesday letting us schedule an interview. I will keep my phone on me. She said she hasn't received the test results for the people that applied for the job in September.
