The application period is closing soon! Making this thread to share our experiences throughout the intern process. Any one know when they will start calling for interviews.

I was contacted via email for my interview. The email will outline the process, let you select your interview date.

Thanks for responding! How long did it take you to get that email after applying ?

I've just recently applied for a few internships! Pretty excited. This may be a silly question, but did you all attach a cover letter? On the website it mentioned attaching one as a requirement under student internships, but on the actual application it only talked about an unofficial transcript. I'm not sure which is most accurate lol

I didn’t attach one just the unofficial transcripts. Since they said they wouldn’t consider looking at extra attachments.

That's what I thought! I just quickly added one like 20 minutes before the deadline, just in case, but I doubt anyone will see it. It'd be nice if they changed the description on their website though.

Has anyone who applied in September heard anything yet? I applied before it closed, and even shot them an email just to see if I could get an update(they replied saying it could take up to 90 days to hear anything....), but otherwise it has been radio silence. Didn't think it would take this long to hear back for a grad internship.

Yup I’m still waiting as well. has your application status changed at all throughout the process? So I’m assuming we have until late November to hear back?

My status hasn't changed (although to be fair I have never had a status change on any DIA applications). When I emailed recruitment, they said that if you do not hear anything after 60 days or so, email them and they will let you know whats up. They seem to be pretty responsive, so I wouldn't start freaking out until December or so.

Sounds good! And out of curiosity did you submit your resume as well or did you just include the transcripts?

Whole nine yards. I submitted undergrad and grad transcripts, cover letter, resume, and academic schedule. Not taking chances with this one, since I only get one shot to get accepted as I am in grad school. I feel like I submitted a solid application, but as we are all aware, we are all at the mercy of the mysterious selection process. Pro tip: if you know anyone in the DIA or CIA, they have a special portal where they can recommend you. Ensures that a second set of eyes look at it.

I did hear back, but only to be told that my transcripts/resume didn't go through their system and to resend them. And that was about two weeks ago! So I'm not sure, guess that just means they have a lot going on and the process is probably going a bit slower than years past.

Hey everyone

Got a call mid-November. They basically just said position/location, then asked if I was still interested, to which I said yes, then they said "expect a call in about a month"

So something more tangible should be coming soon. Any idea what the next step in the process is? Phone interview? Will it be spontaneous, also any tips?

Had my interview early November, and still waiting on HR for news. It's a long, patient, ride.

Ooof. Doesn't look to good for me then. I emailed them but still haven't heard back. Maybe they are just slow and inconsistent?
