Department of Defense

The Department of Defense (DoD) is charged with coordinating and supervising all agencies and functions of the government relating directly to national security and the United States armed forces. The mission of the Department of Defense is to provide the military forces needed to deter war and to protect the security of our country.

The Department of Defense is America's oldest and largest government agency -tracing its roots back to pre-Revolutionary times. Today, the Department is not only in charge of the military, but it also employs a civilian force of thousands. With over 1.4 million men and women on active duty, and 718,000 civilian personnel, DoD is the nation's largest employer. Another 1.1 million serve in the National Guard and Reserve forces. More than 2 million military retirees and their family members receive benefits.

Perhaps you are working for the DoD or interested in working for the DoD. Here is a forum to share your experience with the DoD.

It's late, and I went in to my bank account to find that I had not got paid, and I didn't have a normal ( you are going to be paid this on this date) notice from my bank.

Anyone else who works for DOD not get paid this cycle?

Never had that happen before, ever!

Going to sort it out in the morning.

I did get an email about two weeks ago telling me I had PCS debt. But beyond that it was vague.

I'm DoD, my last pay went in on 11/01... are you a week early in expecting it? My next payday would be the 14th.

Army is on a different pay cycle though the pay periods are the same.

I got paid today. I too have a debt, but the debt letter isn't posted. I don't expect that until January ish.

Even then, typically if there's a debt, they sent you notice for payment options, not just take it.

Did you just get hired by DoD army? I left army earlier this year and they are on different pay than navy. But usually if you get pcs debt they give you debt letter.

Went AF to Army. Been army now for just over a year, still waiting on my debt letter for HHG taxes. Was notified of pcs tax debt with the mass email notifications, but no official debt letter yet.
