The question on the carrier side is, will it show if management puts you in "training" to steal time from your route.

It fails to show the most important rings for carriers which is move to street, move to office.
Shows out and into lunch and union time, Bt Et.

Pretty much useless IMO.

Hmmm...thought the point of the virtual clock rings was to give access to the employee a glimpse into TACS showing total hours worked.

This came about as a result of employees having OT hours worked being deleted. Which was the crux of the issue.

Not to be argumentative but how does having every clock ring posted help towards that end.

Maybe it needs improvement to include other clock rings?

Yes it is useful to see if someone is deleting your OT time. But:

For carriers, route adjustments are based on past performance along with the "week of inspection".

We had a manager that was going in and putting numerous people into "training" for 30-60 minutes everyday. Showing that the carrier completed his/her work in less time than they actually did. Altering the outcome of their 271g, special route inspection.

Also, if management receives "pay for performance" bonuses, this altered the work hours needed to deliver the mail. Essentially the manager was defrauding the PO for his bonuses. Why they didn't prosecute him for this I don't know. The union did all the work, on the clock, to uncover his shenanigans.

Managers fudge street time per example some carriers move to street and deliver parcels for an hour then case mail.
Management has been know to delete that street time which hurts the seven week analysis during route counts.
It was not advertised as a glimpse into tacs, it was advertised to be exactly like tacs and updates every five minutes.

Not the best it could be but definitely helps to see if my boss is shortchanging me on time during Sundays that I forget to take my timecard as my office isn't the hub we deliver from.

You should have a timecard at any office you ever work in...timecards are not to be removed or kept...not that any office follows those rules.

142.24 Employee Time Card Retention
In no case should an employee retain the time card after clocking in or out
unless given specific authorization from the supervisor to do so.

But definitely request a timecard for the offices you ever work at.

We have a bunch of cards for CCA's from other offices that work a Sunday out of our office that never work there any other day.

Came in to work and one of the better supervisors (he knew when his blood sugar was low I kept a candy stash at my DBCS) was by the time clock (1 of 6 in throughout the plant) with a list. He said he was looking for some time cards and could find mine. I told him I followed the last instruction "Swipe Badge", pulled it out of my wallet and clocked in and put it back in my wallet. He gave me a thumbs up.

Those "better" supervisors often find themselves on the outs when they are caught doing things employees like. They will be rewarded for breaking rules as directed by their "superiors", but will be punished for breaking other rules.

He's retired now, as am I. He got bumped to SDO on tour 2 just before I got a tour 2 bid. For his stand up talks, the 12 of us + him took turns bringing in sandwiches and/or snacks for the group. He always bought pizzas when it was his turn. He'd pass around copies of the weekly talk and the sign in sheet and then we'd pass the half hour eating and talking work or whatever. Then we would go to break. He let us partner with who we wanted to work with and everyone got along and worked together to get the mail ready for later DPS.

It was brought up today, management might remove some of your OT or now lunch at the last minute. Just because the time is correct the next bay doesn't mean it will be on payday.

Managers will do some sneaky stuff i worked for one once who would go in and extend lunch to take away OT....we usually took 30 mins but if you went into say 1 hour ot he would change the lunch as if you extended it for some reason and only show 30 mins of OT....took alittle while to catch on but we caught him of course they did nothing to him
