Your personal policy insures YOUR car. It does not insure the LLV you drive for work. The post office insures the LLV.

No postal employee is required to have insurance to drive a postal vehicle.

Some may find it hard to believe, there are area's of the country where people do not own personal vehicles. In particular NYC, DC,... They live in areas that have no parking or very costly parking. And public transportation fits their needs.

I have old friends like this. If they want to "get away for the weekend, they get a rental.

How would they have "car insurance"?

They would get coverage from car rental agency if they are smart

Yes for when they rent a vehicle

In the context of this discussion they would not have insurance while driving an LLV.
