I'm a former federal employee with reinstatement eligibility. I've received a TJO, and expect to be joining another agency once the requisite administrative hurdles are cleared. For reinstatement eligibles, once an employee has elected their health, vision & dental options, are they subject to the 60-day waiting period before it takes effect (or maybe it's 90 days...)? I know that FSAs don't take effect until 1/1 along with any changes made during open season. However I can't really find anything else on the OPM website. Do we get 'credit for time served' or is it more of a 'you separated so you have to do it again' type thing? Thx!

FEHB program (health insurance) and FEDVIP (dental and/or vision insurance) become effective for a newly hired or rehired employee on the first day of the second pay period. This is after the employee has completed working and has been paid for the first pay period and the employee has paid via payroll deduction the first FEHB program and FEDVIP insurance premiums.
