Not sure if anyone saw this, but Immigration Services Officer positions have opened up again. Sucks that people whose offers got rescinded have to start again from scratch but something is better than nothing i guess.

Just applied for an ISO position. Had to take a time assessment. Seemed shorter this time than the 4 hour one I took 2 years ago.

Thanks Akash, according to this announcement, this position is eligible for telework. Does anyone know more information about teleworking as an ISO at the Laguna Niguel office?

Can any current/former Refugee Officers (or anyone familiar w/ the process) give me some insight into the hiring process? i.e. length, steps, etc? I am in process with other agencies but am very interested in this and would not want to potentially miss out on the opportunity.

Any insight on how quickly HROC is moving these days from closing date to referral? Curious if it's same as usual or affected (either positively or negatively) by hiring freeze lift?

most likely slow

I have been referred for two, one closed on 5/19/2021 and the other one on 5/24/2021. So far no interviews. Management and Program Annalist the other one is and ISO at an Application Support Center.

The ones, that I have applied for, that closed before those dates... Just say received....

Moving to CN, and you can't stop me!!!

A good rule of thumb, federal hiring and the word "quick" don't go well together. Except it to be a while. And that's if they move "quickly", relatively speaking

Each location has its own allocated number of positions and openings can vary between sites. For most of the Centers, it's probably 10-30+ slots. Field offices...a much smaller number I'd have to imagine.

So a quick update, just got word that SCOPS will be hiring for more than 500 positions across the service centers. I know they have ISO-1 and ISO-2 postings already. ISO-3 and SISO position will be opening up soon. A public announcement for ISO-1 will be opening soon if not already. I hope this info helps and wish us all luck into getting into CIS or promoted to ISO-2 and above.
thanks 2 users thanked randomazngeek for this useful post.
