DHS
The Department of Homeland Security has a vital mission: to secure the nation from the many threats we face. This requires the dedication of more than 230,000 employees in jobs that range from aviation and border security to emergency response, from cybersecurity analyst to chemical facility inspector. [Their] duties are wide-ranging, but [their] goal is clear: keeping America safe. (source: www.dhs.gov)

Lots of people are staring pay period of July 4th that we’re still interested after the hiring freeze and were contacted in April.

I applied to both ISO1 and ISO2 postings in the last month or so, so they both must have come out by now. Meanwhile I have a question. Despite working for USCIS for a bit before, I have never heard of the office where I got referred: Nebraska Verification Operations Center. Is this part of the Nebraska Service Center campus? Seems like it is in the same city anyway. Edited by user Friday, July 2, 2021 9:39:53 PM(UTC)

From the descriptions I've read before, they sound like the non-criminal counterpart of the ICE Law Enforcement Support Center (i.e. status verifiers) Buffalo has a VOC as well.

I'm glad to hear this, good news for sure! I just re-applied for the ISO opening in Laguna Niguel a few weeks back, so hopefully I get some good news from that job.

The monster govt application system that CIS uses now does not give a dated hiring process timeline anymore, like the prior system did (unless it does and i am not seeing it?). However, I believe I noticed the referral notice for the ISO 1 posting about a week or two ago. I have to imagine essay and/or interview emails shall be coming shortly.

Can you explain what you mean by "dated hiring process timeline"? I've been with the agency for 9 years and have not seen that type of process.

USAJobs application system used to let you see the date that you were referred. The monstergovt system uses the same referral message, but they do not show dates.

1. Has anyone seen any progress for the ISO 1 public opening that was limited to 400 applicants for SCOPS past month?
2. If you were refereed, may I ask what is your background?
