Anyone else have their P2I in February?
I’m set for early in the month. Still waiting on contact from my FO so I can schedule the flight.
Also, can I expect to have my PFT within 2 weeks of completing P2?

I am still waiting on my PSI and Poly invites. I was really hoping to knock them out ASAP and get into backgrounds sooner rather than later. Especially since I’m now in a blackout period and I’m not allowed time off until mid-March.
Thoughts on calling out sick for these things? |

I’m restoring a car. Need to travel out of town that day and day prior to meet with paint and body specialist to go over specifics.
Done. Time off granted.

Done. Time off granted. Haha, if only. That would be filed under: request denied by my employer. |

I’ve been a Border Patrol Agent for little over a year now, and I’m excited that I’ll be able to apply next month after studying some for Phase 1. I heard after you apply you take Phase 1 pretty quick.

Anyone else checked out the Secret Service app process lately? Posts I've seen indicate they're getting guys through the whole thing in 2-3 months. As in, from the day you apply to the day you leave for camp 2-3 months...including background checks and EVERYTHING.
I definitely prefer the FBI, no doubt. But I applied to SS recently as it seems like they mean business. You get slightly more choice in your FO too, though I think they fly you out to wherever if they need extra bodies for political events/etc.

2-3 months?! How is that even possible?? No idea! I assume it's some sort of conditional background check where they do a little bit up front and then finish the rest of it later. And apparently they had to raise the paycap to nearly $200k to pay all the overtime for agents b/c they're just not getting enough new recruits. Which is then causing older agents to leave. So they really have to recruit quickly before everyone leaves lol.

Hi everyone, I've been monitoring information on these boards for a while and appreciate the contributions. I have been in the BI phase since April, and was slated for a September academy, then October, then January, etc. January is looking less and less likely and my second pre-Quantico PFT results would also be valid for March, so fingers crossed. My situation doesn't seem all that unusual, but it's certainly been an exercise in patience so I wish everyone luck in their processes as well. |

USSS is one of few, if only, 1811 positions that gets OT.
Just go eyes wide open into the USSS process and position. Your first question should be why are they in such dire need.

Just go eyes wide open into the USSS process and position. Your first question should be why are they in such dire need. They're in a crappy situation if I read correctly. They can't get new agents fast enough so they're having to work the older agents like crazy to make up for it. Because protection isn't really something you can put off like an investigation. So they're pushing older agents away too as they all transfer to other 1811 positions with other agencies for better quality of life. They had to specifically pass laws to pay agents all the OT they were owed. So it's like you were working a ton and not necessarily getting paid all the extra pay in a timely manner. So yeah, I think they're going to treat you like cannon fodder. But it still sounds like less work than hitting 2200 billable hours a year as a lawyer ;)

Thanks for the new thread. I have been humbled with how quickly they seem to be moving in 2020. I submitted my application and received an invite to test less than 24 hours later. I was curious how quickly you are required to submit your self administered PFT after taking and passing phase 1? I am able to pass the PFT, but was hoping to have some more time to prep and obtain a higher score.
Thanks and good luck.

Thanks and good luck. Go ahead and submit your current PFT score. It does not matter. If you can pass now, that is all that matters. You will not get ranked versus other candidates based upon your PFT during the application process. IDK if you ever do actually. It is pass/fail to move on. |

Hi all. Been lurking on here for a few months now and finally ready to contribute 😏
I’m a teacher who is looking to transition jobs. FBI has always been a dream of mine so I finally took the plunge and applied on 12/7. Moved very quickly through app/P1 and required info, but now the waiting game has begun.
I submitted my required info on 12/22 and I’m waiting to hear about a meet & greet date/location.. curious to know how long it took for most of you to get your M&G invite? Also, I know it can really be anywhere, but I live in central NJ so I have NY, Newark and Philly FOs close to me... odds my M&G will be at one of them? I only have 2 personal days at my teaching job so hoping it’s somewhere close by that won’t require too much travel time!
Good luck to all!!

Thanks and good luck. I believe, if I remember correctly, it was a few days after completing Phase 1 that I received an email to fill out the "required information" on the portal. I wouldn't overthink your self-administered PFT score especially if it's a passing score, keep training and get the higher score on the actual PFT. Things often slow down later in the process so if it were me, I wouldn't wait. |

Good luck to all!! Welcome Sd0816, unfortunately I don't think any of us can give an exact answer to that as the M/G, just like many other steps in the process, vary for each individual. IT could be weeks or even months from what I have gathered from various timelines. My best advice would be to trust the process :) and just focus on the things we have control over like our fitness training, etc. Congratulations on taking the leap and good luck to you too! |

Good luck to all!! I feel you. I applied 10/1 and got invite to P1 the same day. Didn't even see the email for a few days because I wasn't expecting it that fast. Did P1 10/12 and required info only a few days later. But then I waited until mid-December for an email about M&G scheduled for late January. On the other hand, I have seen people do M&G AND the written part of P2 in the same amount of time. Just the way it goes. Think of it as more PFT prep time.
