It's been a little over two weeks since I did the online assessment. Hope to hear back soon.

I'm worried my experience isn't what they're looking for, but we'll see. If I made it that far, I assume they looked at my resume...but who knows.

They look at your resume after you’ve passed the online assessment.

Would I be correct in assuming that those who interviewed for the February 2019 announcement will get to skip to the interview phase this time around?

Ya. You won’t have to take the online or proctored assessments. Those scores are good for 3 years.

Hey everyone! I just received my email showing I passed my Job Simulation assessments! Now, does anyone know how long the application review usually takes?

My timeline so far

Application - 12/3/2019
Phase 1 (online assessments) - 12/19/2019
Received email of Passed Assessments - 1/23/2020
Phase 2 (application/transcripts review) - ?

Good luck to everyone!

When I applied in 2018 it took a long time for the proctored results to come back

Does anyone know if updating a application pushes you further down the line? I applied back on 1/2/2020 and my IRS friend told me I should have received something by now. I have updated my application since than and am wondering if that is the cause of a possible delay.

Thanks!

I have a friend who also applied after the new year and he hasn't received anything back either. My assumption is that they're working on everything they received in 2019 and will move to the 2020 stuff once that's finished.

I applied in December and have seen some pretty quick movement. So it's not that they're not doing anything, it just seems the newer applications are getting less love lol.

One way to prepare is to know about the job. Sounds simple, right? A couple years ago, an ASAC told me he had interviews with applicants who did not know they would have to carry a gun! Maybe they read too much into that recruiting poster that says, "It took an accountant to catch Al Capone." Actually, it took a couple former Postal Inspectors (Irey and Wilson) and a former cop (Mike Malone). None was an accountant.

I applied back in December, received an e-mail in December that “based on my answers to questions, my application was suitable for further review” and haven’t heard a word since.

I received an email at the end of last month stating I passed Phase 2, Simulation 1. You have to wait for the Simulation, but it might take some time FYI. The process is long (about 11-12 months).

It's been about 3-4 weeks between each step for me. I finished the first online assessment and it took a little over three weeks to get the results. Now I'm waiting to hear back as to whether I'm qualified to move forward to the next step (the proctored assessment I assume). It's been a few weeks. Definitely moves slow, but what can you do.

Just got the email informing me that I don't even have the experience or education for GL-7.

Good luck to everyone else!

Are accounting units absolutely necessary?

No but they are really really picky with qualifying with experience. I know only one person that got hired without the accounting credits. I’m sure that are other people but I can only certainly say 1.

I just took the online assessment last night. I am waiting for the results. I have scheduled to meet with the recruiter at my local office on Monday and learn more about the position. I talked with a retired agent last night. He said it is a wild ride in this agency and loved ever minute of it. I don’t think his experience is the average career, but there is potential.

I'm still waiting to hear something. I applied back on 1/2/2019 and have heard nothing. Does anyone know of a number to call besides the 999-999-9999 posted on the posting? Or an email where someone actually emails back?

Thanks,

Matt
