Is there a big difference from getting fired, and getting removed ? It seems like getting removed just leads to an appeal. That’s the situation I am in. I can still bid jobs, get medical benefits et cetera. Typically when you get fired you lose all
Medical, et cetera. You can apply for unemployment but that is all. You can’t go back. Any clerk get into a verbal battle with a manager that lead to this or customer ? I was able to get unemployment easily, but my particular incident wasn’t that bad.

If someone is removed for job performance deficiencies and/or misconduct, that is being fired. Note that receiving a notice of removal is not being removed; it is generally the first step of the process. Were you actually removed? It sounds like a removal was simply proposed.

So I was in that situation initially. Nothing happened. But I switched offices, bid out and got another. So I haven’t officially got fired but I can’t return to work. I collect and still have all benefits. The first letter of removal got knocked down to a 2 week suspension not served.

A removal is termination. The difference being union representation gives you appeal rights, that allow you to remain on the rolls until either an arbitrator upholds your removal, returns you to duty or some other result is reached.

If it was knocked down to a two-week suspension, then that is not removal. Unless you get more than one a year. THEN you have a problem.

I've had TWO two-week suspensions. Not in the same year, thankfully. Both times in the middle of summer. Did management once think of giving me the two weeks off? When the average high is about 110, and often 115-120?

NOOOOOOOOOOOO.

That’s actually what happened. It wasn’t even warranted. The manager just went with the last discipline, new guy too. That’s why i am not at work.

I'm still at a bit of a loss here. So, you have a two-week suspension. That was the negotiated/arbitrated settlement. If you're serving your time, you go back to work after two weeks. Unless there's something else going on, you serve your time and go back to work. There's nothing else to debate.

It's not a career-killer. It happens.

If you got this for "mouthing off" or otherwise irritating a supervisor, then learn the lesson.

Repeat after me: "That's true. You're absolutely right." It will serve you well.

Supervisors will from time to time hand out discipline. That's part of their job. Part of yours is to stay out of the line of fire.

So I got another letter of removal, and the union lost. I was at the this new office a whole 4 months. It was a customer complaint. Yes the complaint was extreme but not worthy of another knock down to 2 weeks. The amount of customer bull***** we deal with is a bit much to discipline someone to removal. It made no sense and they didn’t even investigate it.

How many different threads are you going to make, when they are all basically the exact same thing?

1. You ask some question if anyone has sucked at their job as much as you and experienced so and so

2. Someone takes the bait and assumes what you're going through is unwarranted.

3. You blame someone (supervisor, costumer, inspectors, unemployment office one time lol)

4. I come along and remind you that you're the problem, and are the one person unqualified to work for the p.o

See you next month. Hopefully you'll be fired by then.

This is the same super-stud who has posted that this wouldn't have happened if he'd just agreed to sleep with all the women... maybe even the men... Yet he's not intelligent enough to actually read the contract or understand that in a customer service role, your job is to serve the customer and learn how to deal with difficult situations and customers.

I had to block those punks. This thread would get out of hand, or already has. I’ll get my steward to come out of hibernation and post a reply.

Haha. This is fun.

Could you explain to all of us how we block someone from posting? (Not that I can think of any use for such information, of course.)
