Internal Revenue Service
As a bureau of the Department of the Treasury and as one of the world's most efficient tax administrators, the IRS role is to help the large majority of compliant taxpayers with the tax law, while ensuring that the minority who are unwilling to comply pay their fair share. (Source: www.irs.gov)

I heard that SBSE was doing another Revenue Agent mass hiring. There’s supposed to be 400+ positions available. I saw one announcement today with 34 positions in Colorado, New York and Utah. I’m hoping more announcements will post with more locations. I’ve heard some locations really need RAs in SBSE.

Wow! Do you think that they will do one for RO’s as well? Just wishful thinking. |

That was a recurring theme during this pandemic. IRS does not have enough workers. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you though.

My location doesn't have SBSE work. Its not always not enough workers but location. I don't even bother looking at the jobs on usagovjobs anymore. It too time consuming to apply. The more experience you have it becomes the issue they come to you.

If people don’t look at usajobs, how will they get hired for any Federal job? I guess I’m a bit more optimistic than some.

I don’t know about ROs. But at the end of last year SBSE sent a lot of ROs to OJI school.
And have been soliciting a lot of ROS for CITP

And have been soliciting a lot of ROS for CITP There was a hiring of RO's for EOD of March 2020 with OJI's for them. I received a message from the Union talking about the logistics for RO training starting August 1st and how they want to know how the IRS will be proceeding with that. There was a unit 4 training for RO's in July that already has been postponed for in person. My guess is both of those trainings will be virtual. All the postings for RO's right now are internal and they are for GS 12 and above. The hiring planning probably is being adjusted due to the pandemic. If things start to open back up, you might have more 12 month roster postings with vacancies for many PODS for different positions within the IRS. Right now, times are uncertain so those kinds of postings are few and far between.

I was told SBSE RA announcement would be coming June 1st, but it hasn't happened yet.
They did have a mass TCO announcement though.

I asked someone about it last week. I was told they are just being slow. I hope that’s the case. Hopefully something will post tomorrow or Friday.

OK!
Here we go again! I just finished my application for Revenue Agent. I am a former RA from the August 2012 class. Left in 2015. Applied last year and messed up the simulation. I was category B. I got an interview, and that was it. I won't make the same mistake this time. I've been on both sides of this on this forum. In 2012, I was hired with the group on this forum and we met up in training. Last year, just like now, I came here and participated in the thread. I hope this time to get hired and move on with a bunch of you. Good Luck to all of you!

Good Luck to you too. I also applied last round; however I scored really well in the stimulation but was missing one accounting class that they said you had to have. I am hoping to get hired this round. I currently work for the Office of Chief Counsel, which is kind of part of the IRS, but we are considered external applicants, even though my first 14 years of service as with the Internal Revenue Service. I am hoping that I don't have to take the online assessment again. Fingers crossed.

I applied and interviewed last year but didn’t get a position. I, too, am a former RA. I changed my locations a bit so we shall see what happens. I applied to LBI too. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Good luck to everyone. 343 positions up for grabs.

Hi All! I was hired as a RA last year but unfortunately became ill after completing off-site training in Jacksonville, and had to resign before I started any cases. I will apply again this year. I recall during the last round of hiring someone internal was able to share a file with the number of open positions for each location. I would really appreciate access to this information and was wondering if anyone knows if it is publicly available?

It is located on the Internal job listing. https://www.usajobs.gov/...ob/ViewDetails/569990000It list each location and it then has a number before the location.
