Internal Revenue Service

As a bureau of the Department of the Treasury and as one of the world's most efficient tax administrators, the IRS role is to help the large majority of compliant taxpayers with the tax law, while ensuring that the minority who are unwilling to comply pay their fair share. (Source: www.irs.gov)

I just received my email to schedule fingerprinting (TO received Monday this week). The soonest appointments available in my area are almost three weeks away (8/17 is the soonest). Is it normal for there to be that long of a wait? My start date is 9/13. I guess there's enough time, but that seems so far away.

I had to pick a different location that was 25 miles away to get an appointment the next day. Look for other locations that offer earlier dates.

This is exactly why I came here, I accepted my TO on July 22nd. I submitted all the required documentation (I-9 verification, citizenship verification and Final Transcripts) the same day. I have not received any information about finger printing. I sent an email about not getting the information yet, on July 28th to Human Resources Specialist who sent my TO but haven't received a response.

I am a Federal employee already, but not for the IRS, so Im not sure if I will still need to be finger printed or not.

You will still need to fingerprint.

When I started in 2015 I didn't receive a TO and my POD hired about 200 people for that 1 position!!

Just show up as per the TO, unless you/he receives something saying the offer was rescinded. In my opinion he's fine though.

Me too, still hoping I hear something. The vacancy announcement does say selections may be made through Sept 12, 2021.

I received the email about fingerprinting the day after I submitted the on-boarding info. I would check your spam folder or refer to your TO letter on who to contact if you haven't received it.

Here is what my timeline has looked like so far. Still haven't received the FO but today I think I found out why. I sent them my official transcripts back on the 8th and assumed it was received. I email the HR rep to confirm they received them last week and today I received a reply saying they were downloaded and added to my file today. Hopefully that means that the FO should be on the way soon.

Application: 03/12/2021
Revenue Agent Assessment: 03/23/2021
Interview: 06/10/2021
TO, Transcripts, Onboarding Packet: 07/08/2021
Fingerprints: 07/13/2021
FO: ????????
Projected EOD: 08/16/2021
