Internal Revenue Service
As a bureau of the Department of the Treasury and as one of the world's most efficient tax administrators, the IRS role is to help the large majority of compliant taxpayers with the tax law, while ensuring that the minority who are unwilling to comply pay their fair share. (Source: www.irs.gov)
This forum will allow you to share and ask job-related questions about this bureau. This is NOT the place to ask tax questions.

What’s protocol if you accept a form offer for one position ( say in the Tax exempt group) and shortly after you get a firm offer for SBSE group. Same grade, same position, same pay. Can you switch you accepted offer to SBSE?

You could reach out to your TEGE rep and let them know you accepted another offer.

It's like nobody cares about job hopping whatsoever.

Do anyone know what "BARGAINING UNIT STATUS: Bargaining" and "APPOINTMENT: Career-Conditional Appointment" on the FO mean and if it is of significance?

Bargaining unit means your position is covered by a union. Career conditional means you haven't completed your 3 years of federal competitive service yet.

I was referring to IRS interviews. I've interviewed with other agencies too, though, I highly doubt another agency would know if you just started a new position within the IRS unless you told them. That being said, within IRS, one time I was called about a CI Analyst job, the person who called me said that they saw I had been selected for a revenue agent position and asked if I was still interested in the CI vacancy. I declined, but in retrospect, I should have interviewed for CI! Might have been interesting interview practice at the least.

"I just received a few of those emails today as well after receiving the TO. I was freaking out at first but then notice it was for a different grade and location. If we get selected for a certain grade and location, I'm guessing they will send out these emails for the remaining grades/locations we applied to. " I did my fingerprints and photo last week, did my onboarding last month - then I get the email today that I was not hired. I only applied for one position and one grade. I am really bummed out.
