I am a GS-11 who has a final round interview for a GS-13 equivalent on a different pay scale, which I applied for through the public posting. I am supposed to reach career status next month. I assume this does not count as a transfer? Will I keep my career status and/or have a new probationary period?

It would be considered a promotion. If you were to be selected and by the time you would be in the job you will have changed over to career status so you won't lose that. As far as probation goes its really up to the gaining organization. I'm guessing no they wouldn't require one. If you are moving to a different agency then they might. Good luck.

Probation has nothing to do with status.

you can also go in probation when being a new supervisor
