I live and work in the area. A number of post offices and vehicles have been damaged. We do need order, but it would be nice if you spread the news with a less divisive source than "blue lives matter". Sickening.

So the protesters possibly destroyed other people's stimulus payments.

Nice job idiots.

Black folks have a legitimate grievance that they have been systematically terrorized by cowboy police for centuries. Saying "blue lives matter" implies that police themselves have some comparable grievance, which is false.

How many postal trucks burned on their own this year?
Haha we don’t need help with that area. :(
It’s not the end of the world if this can cause change on how humans should be treated in the future.

It’s time. Be safe.
Take care brothers and sisters.

I remember people who were working during the Rodney King Riots used to joke that it wasn't the National Guard but people getting in line on check day which finally brought the riots to an end.

Blacks kill more blue lives than vice versa.
Check your facts.
In fact, cops kill more whites than blacks, again a fact.
All lives matter.

I grew up on the north side of Minneapolis. Even back in the 60s, you didn't want part of Lake Street.

The mayor is a piece of work: Give the rioters masks. Keep the churches closed. Good God.
We decide which is right; and which is an illusion. I've got blisters on me fingers!

And what percentage of killings are black vs their percentage of the population in comparison to the number of whites killed by the police and the percentage of whites in the US?

Unfortunately it's too many, regardless of color or percentage of the population. That murder in Minneapolis was just an example of how bad the police can be in some parts of the country.

Minnesota Governor stated that everyone arrested so far has been from out of state. And a few have been linked to white supremacy organizations. So maybe they were Trump supporters burning the Post Office. As Trump says, that’s what people are saying, who knows?

Newer data suggests that is inaccurate; that the majority of those arrested have in-state addresses. Still, I'm not sure how much that matters. There are still many "outside agitators" involved; people who are taking advantage of the chaos to create destruction, people who care little for George Floyd. Some of the "looting" also appears to be relatively organized criminal activity. For example, a local jewelry store was "looted" but the owners have noted that upon examining the closed circuit cameras, the operation seemed to be a professional robbery - in and out very quickly.

So, in a situation like this, is mail service halted? I can't imagine it's reasonable to ask that Postal Workers go into an environment where they are now viewed as a rolling cash machine?

Same with UPS/FedEx etc.

Out of an abundance of caution, the United States Postal Service announced Thursday that it’s temporarily suspending services at select Minneapolis and St. Paul locations, and that there would be no mail delivered Friday to the ZIP codes 55104, 55114, 55406, 55407 and 55408.

USPS says both mail delivery and retail window services will be suspended at the Powderhorn, Minnehaha, Lake Street, MN Transfer, and Industrial post offices, along with the retail-only locations at Loop Station and Commerce Station.

Nope!

That is bad info.

Arrest records are proving otherwise.

In the 92 King Riots after the first couple of days when the National Guardsmen were on the street by May 1st, government check day, those who did report to work cased up all the routes. And there were lines of customers going down the streets as people not involved in the stream of looters moving north went to pick up their mail.

I long ago forgot the stories of when that station which served ground zero of the first day of violence restarted residential delivery. I was working another job at the time and by Monday May 4th when we went back to work I remember being at a stop light as a fast moving motorcade with President Bush zoomed by as he was making an inspection/visit.
