The Department of Homeland Security has a vital mission: to secure the nation from the many threats we face. This requires the dedication of more than 230,000 employees in jobs that range from aviation and border security to emergency response, from cybersecurity analyst to chemical facility inspector. [Their] duties are wide-ranging, but [their] goal is clear: keeping America safe. (source: www.dhs.gov)

Hello fellow USCIS employees... has anyone received a furlough notice yet?? The dread and anticipation is killing me... I heard notices started going out on Weds June 24th, yesterday and won't be finished being issued until July 3rd. This slow roll out is torture waiting... :-(

I was told by my supervisor a couple hours ago that there have been some "technical glitches" happening that has prevented them from starting to send out the notices so far. As of 10:00 this morning no one has received notice yet. The goal of HQ is to send them all out by the end of the week, but these "technical glitches" may mean they are trickled out from now until COB July 2nd.

Hmm.. that's interesting your sup told you nobody had received any yet, one of our union reps said he had been on the phone with other union reps across the country and that some BUE's had already received notices this week, then went on to say that the person in charge at RAIO said that their notices went out yesterday and more today, I guess RAIO issued 1,500.

So I'm very curious as to where the employees that have already received notices are located and what their SCD dates were like and if they had Veteran status or not.

This long drawn out thing is making me sick to my stomach :-(

Oh ok, interesting. I'm at a service center and we are under FOD so maybe she was just referencing FOD? I don't have my finger on the pulse of the RAIO side at all.

According to an email we got today, the furlough messages will go out tomorrow. This is truly shameful as I know the majority of my office had today off and do not have access to their computers.

I’m at a field office, and as many of us will start interviewing on Monday I think many of my coworkers left their computers at work. I took mine as I knew USCIS might try to sneak a weekend furlough notice in. As of this morning, no email.

So far no email for me, Just logged in here at home Saturday morning 7:30am. I'm FOD in the Great Lakes Region. I'm guessing they are rolling out the notices over several days??

For anyone that has already received one, I am so so sorry :-( This is just horrible

I received mine last night, TSC. Was hoping being a 30% disabled vet would help, but nope. My whole team got the email, including my supervisor
