Political fliers for a Republican Sheriff.

I will let you draw your own conclusion.

Well the story suggest a non partisan election against another Republican. I would imagine a few Advo/Valysis/Red Plum/Retail Me Nots along with some EDDM have also found their way into dumpsters

Political flyers for a republican sheriff running against a republican opponent in a primary election. Nothing political there. Just a lazy carrier.

18 U.S.C. 1703 - Delay or destruction of mail or newspapers
A simple way is to fill out a 3996, if time is needed to complete the assignment. This carrier elected to dump the mail. The mail was political mail and it is a removal offense. I knew a FTR dumped a bundle of political mail back in the days and he was fired. In this day and age, the union will save this carrier's job and he/she will do the same thing again in the future.

I would wager that the carrier does not know that this is the case. They only know that the candidate is a Republican running for the Sheriff's office.

So you were lying when you posted "I will let you draw your own conclusion". Maybe you should have posted I will let you draw your own conclusion as long as you agree with me. That would have been more honest.

isn't the nations head republican saying to get rid of the post office?

its a darn shame that someone didn't deliver mail from the 'useless' postal system...

sure, not all republicans are anti post office...just playing some devils advocate...

it would be amusing to see what would happen if the post office started to refuse to deliver franked mail or campaign mail for all republican backed candidates...

im not identifying as democrat either...I think its all corrupt...especially at the highest levels...why people spend billions for a job that wont even 'earn' them $2 million over 4 years is beyond me, but I don't have a power complex...and yes, I get it that you get lifetime perks, and other things that come with it, like book deals...but to me, its about making money off the books (insider trading, steering contracts for friends or kickbacks)...and yes, I know that political mail helps the economy move by keeping paper products selling, keeping printing places in business, and a ton of other stuff, like gas stations that sell the gas to move the flyers from the printer to the post office, the people that make those stupid plastic bands that bundle them together...

/end rant

This has nothing to do with political agenda. It is just a lazy a$$ carrier decided to dump the mail instead of delivering them. I have seem a few like this already.

1) I am sure he will still keep his job. The union will keep this POS employed.

2) This is one of many reasons why I will never cast a ballot via mail.

I've understood that dumping the mail is an automatic firing. When did that change?

Whoa Nelly, what happened to fake news? Or are republican accusations automatically assumed to be true? I'm also impressed by the assumption that the carrier was too stupid to realize it was a republican run off election. It's a sheriff's election, so maybe if this story is true that the carrier has a personal issue with this particular sheriff? For the record I tend to think the story is most likely true. But management and law enforcement are still obligated to prove their case and the accused is entitled to the benefit of the doubt.

1) Just as they would fight for your non-dues paying job as well...defend the contract, that's whet the union does. You know as well as anyone that when management doesn't follow procedures in discipline, it gets tossed. (Not trying to say any discipline that comes from the OP's issue isn't warranted)

2)That's your choice. I for one have already requested my absentee ballot and most certainly WILL be mailing mine in. My vote, MY CHOICE...I can see online when my absentee ballot has been accepted, I'm sure your state has that procedure as well.

I was told in orientation 26 years ago never steal or dump any mail. He told us about a carrier being walked out by the Postal Police for stealing a fast food coupon out of an Advo to use for his lunch. We had a CCA that got fired for dumping Advos under a bridge.

in san diego county one can tract their mail in ballot, if you mail it in early enough and they do not get it you can ask for a replacement. but there is no way to track a ballot cast at the polling place. you just have to trust the non-criminal background checked person to deliver the ballot box to the same place my mail ballot gets sent to.

either way a lot of trust in the system.

1) There’s far too
many steps and it’s far too complicated to remove the bad apples here. That should be pretty evident. This should be immediate termination if he did in fact do it. It shouldn’t be this hard to remove people. End of story.

2) Good. Cast your ballot however you want. I will cast mine in person like I always have. This whole “it’s too dangerous to vote in person because of the rona” has went right out the window with these babies tearing up
cities “protesting” the last several
weeks. Their argument is moot now.
