Last they told me orientation starts 3/1 and whether it’s be remote or in-person is TBD.
On Monday it will be just 2 weeks away from that March 1st reporting date.
Did your final offer inform you where you had to report? I'm surprised they haven't informed you if they are pushing back unless they do it later today or on Monday. If they don't say anything, it means they're expecting you to report per the final offer.
It seems that externals are being pushed back if they don't cancel the hiring altogether because there's not enough time for externals to receive a Tentative Offer, submit the documentation requested, fill out onboarding documents by March 1st at the same time they provide notice to there current employment.
I'm afraid that the announcement can be canceled and then reopened because the closing date of this announcement was back on June 2020 and they can't go over a certain amount of time to fulfill an announcement per OPM rules unless there is an exception made, etc.
I emailed Human Resources at the end of January and haven't received a response.
I also reached out to the person that had contacted me to set up the interview a few days before I emailed Human Resources and she said that Tentative Offers for externals were still pending.
That's all the information I have.
I guess the next timeframe that we're waiting for and paying attention to is the 03/01/2021 reporting date for Externals if nothing happens between now and then...
Thanks for sharing! If anyone has or receives any other information, especially about the external hiring, please share it here even if you do it anonymously or vaguely.
Thanks!
