This is all rather confusing and I don't think we've heard the end of it, but according to several web sites catering to federal employees, the latest budget deal calls for a 1% pay raise.
This is not the final answer so I don't know why they didn't go ahead and propose something bigger but who knows.
Also says federal employees will be given more time to pay back the sort-of tax cut.
Stay tuned... |

The omnibus bill does not address the pay raise. It will depend on Trump carrying through with his previously announced plan to give a 1% raise.

Everything I have read said Congress put the 1% in the spending bill. https://www.fedweek.com/...rs-path-for-1-pay-raise/“ The spending bill that Congress has passed to fund federal agencies through the fiscal year and provide further pandemic relief is silent on two key issues for federal employees: a 2021 pay raise and President Trump’s executive order to move potentially tens of thousands or more competitive service employees into a new excepted service Schedule F. The silence on the pay raise is being interpreted as effectively an endorsement of the 1 percent raise that Trump advocated for most of the year. ”

The President called for a 1% pay raise early in the year (February?) but more recently I read that the White House called for a pay freeze. Now I am seeing that later announcement being referred to as an "informal" move. |

Anyone got the odds on the government shutdown? Since the funding bill hasn't been signed and doesn't look like it's going to be signed but rather let lapse until Congress reconvenes after the New Year and then will need to be re-negotiated, I'd start holding my breath right about now.

Just re-applied for another, telecommuting gig. Midnight, 28 December is the time to beat.

It is now official: 1% pay raise for 2021 https://www.chcoc.gov/co...ary-2021-pay-adjustmentsNot much but better than zero percent. And for you younger folks it will add up over time. Who knows what 2022 will bring.? 2%? Or is that getting greedy... |
