Interested in this as well

If you are fully vaccinated you can leave up to 50 miles, that’s after you get a negative COVID test on the Wednesday of the first week.

Dangit! I'm about 100 miles away. Hopefully management re-evaluates at some point and lifts the restrictions more.

Also, still no overnights. So you can have family visit and stay in a hotel (or come up to see you on saturday or sunday), but you'll need to go back to the dorms for overnights. I was told this too is being re-evaluated soon (maybe August).

For those of you who received a final offer:

My background started in March, completed my medical to include that supplemental form they request if you wear contacts. It has been a while since I have heard back. Those of you who received your final offer, did you receive a call first? Or did you see your FBI Jobs portal update first before you received a call notifying your background was complete?

I keep checking my portal, impatiently waiting on a check mark next to "COMPLETE BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION" lol.

I haven't gotten my final offer yet but I've been told by my AC that I'm out of background, adjudicated favorably, and on the roster for August. my portal still says "Pending: background." I would just contact your AC about it.

I'm still waiting on final offer and August Q invitation, too. I anticipate this will come by the end of the week as I was told early July. Meanwhile, training my butt off.

Does anyone have any familiarity with implanted ocular lenses and passing the medical? I know contacts are allowed, as is lasik, but I have a friend who is thinking about applying who has implanted contact lenses, and wants to know if that is disqualifying - and what if they don't come back 20/20?

Online via E-Qip. But if you did a paper SF-86 prior for anyone else, you will see said info in E-Qip (I did a paper SF-86 in the military, I saw the info in E-Qip).

Hey everyone. Does anyone know if there is any sort of appartment hunting help if you get NYC? I am trying to prepare as if Im going to make it through background, and not knowing the city makes it hard to prepare. Are there contracted or agency people that help with stuff like that? If I have to move the fam, I need to know what my expectations should be, housing wise, on the chance that I actually make it. Im about 90 minutes from the city now, but with traffic I dont think I can swing that commute.

Received my suitability denial letter this morning. It seems they did have issue with a high PTSD rating after all. Best of luck to everyone else that was in or will be in the same boat I was. I suppose the cautionary tale here is that if you get a letter "asking" if you'd like to reduce your PTSD rating, it isn't really a request, but a requirement, which is a shame. Shoot me a DM if you have any other questions.

Question for anyone actively training for the PFT - are you incorporating any lower body strength training into your routine?

Yeah, definitely. Squats, lunges, Squat/Lunge Jumps etc, help me with the sprint for sure. Im not much of a sprinter to begin with so I need all of the explosive power I can get. Lower body work also helps in the sit ups area...hip flexors are often overlooked and mine were really weak when I started.

Happy Fourth, everyone!

Now that we are starting the back half of the summer and with the Bureau's fiscal year coming to a close in the next couple of months, I'm curious of everyone's progress to date and where we all stand. There is an August and September class to close out the year (not certain on 2022 FY class dates yet).

I'll start:

3/21: Re-applied (P2 already passed several years ago)
3/21: CAO
4/21: PSI/Poly
6/21: Medical
6/21: References interviewed, including current employer

Crickets since then. This part is hardest part - the unknown. Last time I went through, I was in background for about one year before withdrawing. This time around, I'm hoping for a quicker process and am hopeful for getting into a class by the end of calendar year 2021. We'll see.

Best of luck to all.

Hey everyone, here’s my timeline so far. Seen a few people having quick BI turnarounds ie. 3 months, hoping for one of those haha

Reactivation: 1/21
P2 Writing: 1/21
P2 Interview: 3/21
CJO: 3/21
PSI/Poly : 4/21
PFT : 4/21 (Pass)
Ref/Emp contacted: 5/21
Medical: 5/21

I was also hoping for a quick BI but I don't think that's going to be the case for me. Still hoping for that September class...My timeline:

CJO: 12/2020
PSI: 1/2021
Poly#1: 2/2021
Poly#2: 3/2021
Medical: 4/2021
Credit & References: 4/2021

Other than medical asking me to get a Flu shot in May, which was rather difficult to find at that time in the year might I add, it's been radio silence.

Good luck! Hope to be right there with ya. My latest date change in the portal is still the day after my Poly in April. I am thinking Nov/Dec class is more realistic for me...

I just got contacted by a background investigator notifying me that my BI was initiated and that they will be contacting my current employer within the next few days. I was told by the recruiter that it is now done towards the end of the investigation. Has that been the case with everyone else?

Boy I hope so. My employer was contacted the 3rd week of June. Crickets since then. I'm not a good data point for you though
