Disappointing when this is the third new year thread I've seen posted.

Timeline:

Applied 10/2017
Interview/CJO - 2/2018
Background investigation 4/2018
Investigator said he turned in his investigation 8/2018

Other than occasional "you are still processing" updates, nothing since.

Here's my timeline:

05/2019 -- Applied
09/2019 -- CJO
09/2019 -- EQIP

and nothing. Noone has contacted or my references. No credit pull either.

Feel like my timeline will look like yours. EQip was submitted on 09/2020 since then absolute nothing.

May 2018: Applied for job
June 2018: Took and passed proficiency exam
July 2018: Submitted Online Introductory Technical Interview
August 2018: Received and accepted CJO
September 2018: Submitted SF-86
February 2019: Submitted additional info for SF-86
March 2019: Contact from recruiter saying initial review of SF-86 has begun
September 2019: Emailed additional requests for security processing
November 2019: Met with BI, references contacted.
December 2020: Email saying I'm active in the suitability process (not sure if that's really an update)

Seems like I am doing Copy past again.

Applied ( June ,2017)
Testing ( June , 2017)
interview ( August, 2017)
CJO( August 2017)
Met with BI, friend , coworker etc contacted ( October , 2017)
BI confirmed that everything is summited ( December ,2017)
No poly and Pyc test!
told by the recruiter that position is no longer available and my processing will stop as of now ( Mid 2018)
Re-applied ( 2018)
interview ( November 2018)
Got 2 CJO for two different jobs ( December 2018)
Submitted SF-86 and online form ( January 2019)
Security contact for additional info ( February 2019)

So far no news at all after submitting my new SF86. I do not know if they will use the work of previous BI which was completed in 2017. I am not contacted by BI after submitting my new SF-86 in 2019. No Poly/Pys so far . recruiter says I am still in process. Has this happen to anyone before or any idea how it is going to work out !

*Non-STEM position
9/2019: applied
11/2019: scheduled an interview time and date with recruiter
12/2019: interview (in-person)
1/2020: CJO
1/2020 (mid): submitted EQIP
1/2020 (end): contacted by Security Department for a request for more information
2/2020 (beginning): confirmation that requested information was received, no additional information needed at the moment.
5/2020 (beginning): contacted by Security Department for a request for more information/information sent over
7/2020 (end): Polygraph + Security Interview
9/2020 (end): Polygraph (passed) + Psych
1/2021: notified by recruiter that I am no longer being considered

Anyone else get this? The email I received says "This could be due to a variety of reasons including interview, testing, initial screening, qualifications, and/or the job opening has been filled/discontinued. This does not close you out for consideration for other positions. You are welcome and encouraged to continue to apply to positions on www.intelligencecareers.gov/nsa that interest you, and continue to update your resume as needed."

After talking with my recruiter over the phone, it's most likely not the interview (I got a CJO), testing, or initial screening (wouldn't have made it this far if it was initial screening), so it's either the qualifications changed or the job filled up. I don't think the job filled up because the language in the email is different, as they usually spread your resume around. I was told it's not a security/suitability issue. Also, it's not a drug issue because I was not told that I'd have to wait a year before reapplying. This was also confirmed by my recruiter, who said that I can reapply anytime and my adjudication would just pick up where it left off.

My recruiter said they'd try to send over the hiring manager's contact info for me to talk to because only they would have the full answer.

According to HR, it is still processing? It has been about a month and still no official CJO. I honestly do not know when I am moving to the next step. Does it usually take this long due to the holidays of Dec/Jan + administration change?

Timeline for a STEM position:

Applied: ~10/2020
Interview + Verbal Offer: 12/2020
Current Progress - "Processing by HR"

Jedi master Obi-wan, you need to significantly adjust your expectations regarding timeliness and responsiveness with NSA. You got a verbal offer. You will get a written eventually.

Put this job in the far recesses of your mind - you’ll be a lot happier trust me. Look at it as plan G, not A B or C.

If I sound jaded maybe it’s because I’m going on three years now, still waiting on poly and medical, coming from someone who already had a TS/SCI and full scope and even worked at the darn place before. I miss the days when I thought waiting a month for the next step to take place was a long time. ;)

Agree with AryCyber.

I would suggest put it in even plan Z . I am also going on my 4 year and yet to hear back for Poly/Psy exams. Everything is done just waiting for Poly and Pys exams. Take any opportunities come your way. I would suggest, forget about even you have applied. If / When you get you FJO than decide , until than do not lose any opportunity and continue with your life without even thinking about this process at all. This is my honest suggestion to you and everyone else.
