Next APWU COLACurrently stands at $229.00 per year. Still one month left to determine the exact amount. The COLA will be effective February 27, 2021 (pay period 06-2021, pay date March 19, 2021). Edited by user Sunday, August 15, 2021 5:15:47 AM(UTC)

It is a great opportunity to increase your TSP contribution by 1%. |

I expect the final result to end up being closer to $300.00. We'll see. |

If someone put $25/month ($300/year) in an investment that gave a 5% rate of return, in 20 years they would have contributions of $6,000. A gain of $4,145 and a total of $10,145. 30 years would yield $9,000 in contributions, $11,384 in gains, for a total of $20,384 https://www.bankrate.com...-savings-calculator.aspx |

Jan 2021 CPI 760.447 - July 2020 CPI 752.527 = 7.92 Divided by .40 = 19.8 cents per hour, rounded up to 20 cents I believe. 20 x 2080 = $416 COLA

Here it is. In January, the final month of the six-month adjustment period for the fifth COLA under the 2018 Agreement, the CPI-W Unadjusted Index (1967=100) rose from last month to 760.447; an increase over the July 2020 Index point upon which employees received the last COLA. As a result of the rise in index level, the following COLA adjustment will be applied to each step of the basic annual salary for all employees covered under the 2018-2021 Collective Bargaining Agreement effective February 27, 2021 (pay period 06-2021, pay date March 19, 2021). The fifth COLA under the 2018 National Agreement will be $416.00: |

DogeCoin, Bitcoin, Ethereum is WAAAAAAAY better than the TSP.
I would say do the 5 percent matching and then invest in Crypto on your own.
You will easily beat the TSP even if you do like I do, 100 percent to the C fund.

:) Lmfao... I would not put more than 5% of my investment in something like is being suggested. As I have mentioned in the past, I don't have anything invested in international markets either. |

:) Lmfao... Ok Genius, Lets say we start with the EXACT same money and contribute the exact same amount. Lets say 10 years ago you have your pathetic investment and I invest in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin. Today, who has more money? WAY more money.

My understanding of Bitcoin is there is only so much to be "mined". When the bucket is filled, what will happen to the value? Who is going to buy actually use bitcoin as a trading item? Are you going to be able to walk into a Starbucks and pay with bitcoin? Walmart, Target, Krogers, ....... |

You can easily convert Bitcoin to dollars if you need to. Instantly for no fee. Unlike banks...

You say that now. How about we compare those accounts two years ago or whenever Bitcoin takes a 30-50% dump. Historically the market has always risen and if I’m betting my retirement likely hood on one of those two, then I’m going for the tried and true. Bitcoin and other coinbase investments may be the wave of the future and I think that do have a place however it won’t be taking over fiat money anytime soon nor is it stable enough currently for me to think about investing my retirement portfolio in. When I have FU money then I’ll chuck some of that into it.

there are 4 cryptos that you can get into via paypal, but you get hit with fees going in and out, making day trading not a great option, but you can make some serious money if you get lucky...i have a few bucks in a variety of crypto, and really it is no money at all, as it is what i made off sticking money in from fanduel and draftkings 'no brainer' bets for a few weeks...i will tell you i took a 40% ride recently and that was cool on the way up, but not on the way down...but again, playing with house money...

If I invested 10,000 dollars on 3/3/2019 in just Bitcoin I would now have...................... 130,836.982 Dollars. What do you have? LOLOLOLOLOL
