Haven't seen many updates to the common hiring timeline threads lately. Part of me wants to get down about it, but with the new design of the Agency's website and hiring info, they've got to still be taking a fair amount of applicants. We're all going to make it friends; don't get discouraged.

Anyone have any updates in the past few months? My timeline so far has been:

Feb 2020: Applied online
Mar 2020: Questionnaire, personality test
Sept 2020: Phone interview

The individual I spoke with said that if I didn't get a rejection letter by Thanksgiving, that I could assume I'd be moving on eventually. The letter never came and so here I am! Things are moving slower than I'd like but I'm happy to even be here.

Not sure if they are working anymore on new or previously applicant but due to changes in congress and new heads at this dept and the country there is even less hope now and don't know if they are interested in us anymore.
Anyway my friend don't worry keep on doing what you have never think about it which i did for a year than i gave up being hopeless day by day. You will proberly get another email and call or instructions to be at certin tme and day expenses paid ! then you will go for a catwalk in front of 2~3 judges on a day with bunch of newbies and may get free cookies and coffee in same hall you will be escorted out (or kicked out) of Area55 after they have been done with your interview.
They may call you blindly a week after that saying either they like you are not and send you paper work to fill it up for BI and after you do that than second time lasp that begins that could take forever till the next step.Later My friend.!
We should make these comments more interesting and funny for everyone to read and enjoy our journey to a lifetime opportunity.!

As the below linked article notes, it's apparent that the primary purpose of the CIA website's new design is recruitment of new agency employees. According to the article, "the only buttons above the fold [of the CIA website's front page] are 'careers' and 'find your calling.'” The article quotes a marketing executive who contrasts the CIA website with the FBI website. On the FBI website, "you have to dig to find a jobs page," whereas on the CIA website, you "have to dig to find the other stuff.” On the DIA and NSA websites, the link to the careers page is at the top of the front page but the careers page link on both websites is still just one of several menu options at the top, unlike on the CIA website. So it's obvious that the CIA is making the recruitment of new employees a top agency priority, even with the gradual ending of the global war on terrorism. This is probably the case because great power competition with Russia and China and, to a lesser extent, Iran and North Korea will likely be dominating American foreign policy for the foreseeable future.

The mission statement of the CIA when it comes to recruitment has been revamped for more inclusiveness and changing threats and demographics. I was told that this change in hiring towards "new blood" is both because of the exit of many (retirement/leaving for corporate world) and to be more diverse; something they have been criticized for. The ever changing threat to the US no longer require only the "caucasian" rich employee base but a more diverse workforce capable of "mingling" with the outside crowd. They do move very slowly when it comes to hiring and some even question the validity of the poly machine; nothing in life is guaranteed i.e. Snowden and various other Intel employee spilling he bean.

The CIA has also seen how other law enforcement agencies and intel agencies have been rotting with the good ol boys club who are very politically charged (Comey et al) so the objective is to try to weed out that portion and start fresh. The agency does not want to be seen as yet another political weapon. They have also started to look at the corporate world candidates with tremendous process/project management/quality/HR expertise to help them streamline their operations. That is why you might have seen a lot of jobs in various directorates that are open to the public whereas before they preferred to hire existing govt employees. As I have mentioned before my source worked for the CIA in a higher capacity and for what its worth :)

The agency is trying hard so kudos for that.
