level 21 here...i could see cutting window hours to where its open like 7-9, 11-2, 4-6 to prevent 'dead' time, but problem with that is, you would need more clerks for those short bursts to maintain lines, and then when no window needed, do you need those clerks to throw packages?...not in most cases, the back is staffed for that...to prepare for dispatch?...window doesnt do much of that...

Second, I don't think they are planning on making FTRs work MWF or TTHS. The way I read it is to adjust the window operating hours so maybe MWF they are open longer and TTHS they are half days or whatever fits. Personally I think it's crazy the hours some offices have while others are barely open long enough to sell a stamp. Today I have been on without a lunch for 7 hours so far because we don't close for lunch and I am alone at the moment. I welcome a chance for a break.

I'm in a level 18 office too. If I have to work the window during the week from 9-4 (which means I also do AM distribution and PM dispatch) without ANY assistance, I slap a sign on the retail lobby door and lock that bad boy tighter than a drum for a full hour. I take my lunch, usually away from the office. This doesn't happen often. If I died tonight, they'd have my job posted faster than HRSSC would process my death notification. You gotta stand up for yourself. No one else is gonna make sure you don't get screwed, but YOU.

Sadly, the Postal Service becomes less relevant with each passing year.
Amazon delivery vans now dominate my neighborhood each day.

Terrible customer service does not help our case. That goes all the way around from top to bottom.
