Most of the posts on this agency are old. What is it like to work for USDA now? Is the telework policy still one day per week even during the pandemic? Safety measures taken?
Thanks in advance.

I was told, recently, USDA was leaving the WA DC area and relocating to other areas of the country. I find it hard to believe an entire department is leaving the Capital, but this was said by a mid-level director. I suppose I misunderstand but I was told agency was filling many vacancies. I have been watch USDA vacancies on USAJobs for quite some time now and there have been many, many announcements. So, maybe it is true. My interview was over Zoom and the entire panel looked to be working from home. My guess is TW is discretionary and left up to the agency director. If this truly a mass exodus from the DC area for USDA I am sure it will be a good time to get in there. I suspect lots of opportunities for the right work experience and promotion potential to fill vacancies from people not wanting the relocate from DC. This is as much as I can see from outside the agency. Good luck with them.
