In the new contract look awful now. What a kick in the teeth that after 29 years we will only make
double the minimum wage. Falling behind with every year...The $15 minimum wage is in the new stimulus bill...
Wake up ! You are losing ground.

By the way, the $15 minimum wage is in trouble.
No need to whine or complain about our pay increases or contracts yet.

It’s a farce. Why? If you double the minimum wage the cost of everything will go up(inflation). So the bottom wage earners will still be on the bottom and that $15/hr will not get you the buying power that it gets you now. It’s that simple. The minimum wage is there for starters and new employees. If you’re an adult and still making minimum wage or close to it then you made some very very bad choices in life.

Do I believe it should increase? Absolutely. I’m on the same lines with Manchin and Mitch Romney in that a $10-11/ hr minimum is way more reasonable. This isn’t a big issue for big corporations. It’s the small businesses with slim profit margins that will pay the price. There’s some middle ground here. But the “living wage” argument is simply a political statement.

What if the small business can't afford to pay $15 an hour, but $10?

Does that mean the government puts them out of business?

And then the government rushes in with tax payers money to pay them so they can then say the government saved them. It’s all about buying votes and getting as many people dependent on the government(taxpayers) as possible.
