Internal Revenue Service

As a bureau of the Department of the Treasury and as one of the world's most efficient tax administrators, the IRS role is to help the large majority of compliant taxpayers with the tax law, while ensuring that the minority who are unwilling to comply pay their fair share. (Source: www.irs.gov)

You’ll drive yourself crazy doing that.

Not all referrals go out at once.

Are all the RO positions working in the field? As in going to homes and businesses for collection etc. The announcement mentioned being a Technical Reviewer.

You won’t be hired as a tech reviewer.

You will be a field officer in the general program.

Did you receive a rating? No need to post it or anything but I was curious if they were categorizing.

If/when you get hired make sure you take advantage of the veterans mentor program.

There are a lot of your brothers and sister that are more than willing to help you smoothly transition tot he IRS.

Appeal it stating just that and include your transcripts and highlight your experience. I usually quote the GS9 qualifications in my email as well.

Who do I send it to. What is the email or number? I sent an email to the person listed on the posting but have not heard anything back

Do we know if all referrals will be going out this week? Or will be they be staggered in the weeks to come? Also, are they based off of location?

They usually stagger things.

And some people that are referred won’t show up. And they’ll send out more emails.

Received a BQ email for the GS 7 in Atlanta, external announcement. I hope to receive an interview. I hope everyone gets responses who haven't yet as well.

Same I received BQ for New York. For GS-7 I am trying to appeal for GS-9 because I have worked for the SBA at GS -5. I also have 30 credit hours for my masters.

You definitely should qualify for the 9. I'm currently in the middle of finishing my degree and don't have the specialized for the 9. You should definitely win your appeal. Good luck!

I checked the career connector today and saw that it showed "Ineligible - lacks specialized experience" for both GS-7 and 9. I have a bachelors and will graduate with my masters in October. I understood that to meet the basic qualifications for at least GS-7, and I am a 5-pt vet as well.

That's outrageous. You are eligible. Especially as a vet. Someone didn't do their due diligence, it seems. Someone advised me to appeal at the email, listed and to respond to the ineligible email.

With your vet preference though there are lot of jobs that only you can apply to though. But you are eligible for this.
