I believe the requirements were to have a vehicle that you could stand up in the back |

I am guessing this is a prototype and things will change, but does this look safe to you?
I mean, from the pictures the frontend looks so low and just a sheet of glass. How are you suppose to remove ice from the wiper blades?

They haven't even finalized the design, yet they've been awarded a ten year contract. Anybody remember that piece of mail processing equipment we bought.... the FSS? Total garbage and waste of $millions. It's just sad nobody went to jail for its purchase. So I'm not convinced yet that we made a smart decision on vehicles, when they haven't even finalized the design. I'd really like to know a lot more details.

Oshkosh is a well respected manufacturer of military vehicles. I am sure any USPS vehicle they build will be a good one. As long as the cargo area is tall enough for people to stand up in, has airbags and has a/c, do we really need anything else? The cargo area does not need to be much bigger than the current LLVs. A 10% larger cargo area with some shelves will do wonders.

A 10% larger cargo area with some shelves will do wonders. years ago, you stated A/C would be a waste in a postal vehicle, and would not work/break due to the window being open all the time. Now, you say the cargo area doesn't need to be much larger than an LLV? What planet do you live on? there are so many days where LLV's are unmanageable with the parcel volume...and this is in offices that already lost Amazon. I will be retired way before these NGVD'***** offices in maybe 2024?, so I will never reap the benefits of A/C and other safety features, but for those that will be driving the new vehicle, I am sure they will appreciate a MUCH larger cargo area.

FWIW... I heard that if you stand up the blades the night before the blades won't get frozen against the windshield.
As the defroster usually doesn't go that far down on the windshield.

I am a professional toilet scrubber for 38 yrs and never carried b4. I like to file 1767 for the heck of it. |

Put the wiper blades on top of the cover. There also is a boot to cover the side mirrors. By looking at the photo of the new truck, the wipers are mounted above the window. |

I believe they are making a big mistake by sticking with ICE and not going more EV. The up front costs are greater, yes. But they will more than pay for theirselves down the road. There appears to be a lot of people upset with the way this contract was rewarded and it’s believed that it was politically motivated. I know there’s senators and others asking for more information and trying to figure out what happened. Typical government garbage.
