I have changed careers over the past decade and have floated between a GS12 & GS13 paygrade...mainly with the DoD, IRS, VA & GSA as an Engineer. However, the USFS in Tucson (where I want to work) has shown serious interest in me as a Civil Engineer (GS-11). I really want the job, but don't want to get stuck in a lower paygrade indefinitely. Does the USFS just pay less than other federal agencies when comparing equal jobs?
