How long does it typically take to hear back on pass/fail of Initial Job Simulation assessment? Mine was a few weeks form completion to notice of passing I take it that if you don’t get an invite to take the job simulation right after completing the application, you are or will be rated as ineligible for the position?

I haven’t even actually received an official tentative offer or any list of due dates from HR. I emailed them today to ask for an update. I don’t want to be missing anything. Edited by user Friday, December 10, 2021 11:17:47 AM(UTC)

It was included in the email I received. My HR rep replied back saying I would get it with my firm offer. So not sure why it’s different from yours but I guess I’m not gonna worry about it.

Hi Everyone been following this thread since the summer and was recently offered a TO for 1811. I’m not as familiar with all of the acronyms that people use and how things work as most of the others. I have a couple questions if anyone could help me out. 1 are there physical requirements for fletc or SAIT I see people post on here about there being some tests done at the trainings but are there minimum qualifications? If so, Want to make sure I focus in on these areas before I show up.

You go to FLETC, they have you do the PEB (physical efficiency battery, google this for details, it’s on their website) You’ll do the PEB twice, at least, at the start and end of CITP. You don’t have to meet any standard to stay in CITP, you must participate (not true for every agency, fail as a Secret Service and you might be cut) You’ll perform IRS-CI’s fitness test once in SAIT, then once annually: it’s push-ups, sit-ups, sit-and-reach, 1.5 mile run. Something to note is that the qualifications do not explicitly mention passing a certain standard of the fitness test. That isn’t an invitation to do the bare minimum. The Marshals Service fitness test uses the same exercises. Look at their standards, aim for them and you’ll be set. Edited by user Friday, December 10, 2021 8:38:42 PM(UTC)

To go to another field office is more difficult. Not impossible but there are opportunities to transfer to other Field offices: for example difficult to staff PODs.

sorry for posting the questions separate i get errors otherwise Pay is GS base pay, plus locality, plus LEAP. Look up GS pay scales for whatever area you’re in, add 25% for LEAP. I’ve never heard of anyone getting overtime, that’s why we get LEAP.

What is leap and is it always 25%? Are there requirements to get leap?

9.11.4.9 (03-17-2021) Law Enforcement Availability Pay
The LEAP is a mechanism for compensating GS-1811 law enforcement personnel in the Federal government for unscheduled overtime, including periods when a Criminal Investigator is designated by the agency to be available for duty. This compensation is equal to 25% of the special agent’s base pay, including locality pay.

Anyone wear glasses/contacts? If so, what’s your prescription value? The requirement in the posting is 20/200 uncorrected and I’m probably right around there (corrected vision is 20/20 though). Is there actually nothing about the uncorrected vision requirement being waived even if you have worn soft contact lenses for 10+ years? Agencies like the FBI, HSI, etc. waive that requirement if you wear soft contact lenses.

Yeah I’m also confused why uncorrected vision would even be a requirement (especially for contact lense wearers).

Agencies like the FBI, HSI, etc. waive that requirement if you wear soft contact lenses. I wear glasses and contacts (not together lol) and originally failed vision. There is no waiver of uncorrected vision for IRS. It's 20/200 regardless of how long you've worn contacts. If you fail, you have an opportunity for your personal doctor to retest you and sign off on your corrected or uncorrected vision. I somehow failed my corrected vision test. My doctor gave me a stronger glasses prescription and it was an easy fix. Short of lasik, I'm not sure what the fix is for uncorrected vision. Congrats to those that have received offers. Nowadays you go to your POD first and wait for a class to open up at FLETC. If you're lucky, you'll almost immediately go to the academy. I'll be in FLETC for 3 weeks in Feb for another class. Excited to see how the new recruits are looking these days.

If I reject my TO, can I apply to another announcement and still be hired?
