The Department of Homeland Security has a vital mission: to secure the nation from the many threats we face. This requires the dedication of more than 230,000 employees in jobs that range from aviation and border security to emergency response, from cybersecurity analyst to chemical facility inspector. [Their] duties are wide-ranging, but [their] goal is clear: keeping America safe. (source: www.dhs.gov)

Good morning, I am looking to gain some insight on the FOIA Assistant position within USCIS.
I am a current USCIS employee and the FOIA position is the same pay scale I am at now, GS5-7 although the FOIA one is fully remote.
Saving me gas, mileage and over an hour commute each day. I was told during the interview process that there is opportunity to advance
up the GS scale once hired on. Just hoping to find someone who has some insight into that and how quickly one can advance, promotion
opportunities have become stagnant within my current office. Thank you in advance for any information!
