I just submitted my follow up paperwork. Should I be expecting another package in the mail from CHS?

CHS confirmed they received my follow up paperwork on 06/02, but I haven't heard anything since and my HR Specialist doesn't respond to any of my emails. I emailed her again today from my IRS email rather than from my personal email, so if she responds to that one I will let you know what she says.

Contgratulations to those that received their FOs! I look forward to meeting those that are scheduled for FLETC on 8/16. I wish those that are in medical follow-up the best.

Is anyone’s POD in a different location from where they currently live? I haven’t been told what I’m supposed to do during the time frame from when I start in July to when I go to fletc in August. It’d be pretty expensive to have to get a hotel for 3+ weeks… Edited by user Friday, June 17, 2022 8:30:44 AM(UTC)

Then after FLETC he moved to the state the POD was in. Definitely reach out and confirm either way, as I am not sure if this is the standard procedure.

goldscca, frank2022, congratulations on the FO!!!!! I am also looking forward to meeting everyone at FLETC in august!
As to the different location of POD from current living situation. my POD is 5 states away. I did some research on long term stay hotels, and hostels however they were brutally expensive especially in the city that I'm being stationed. I did find a short term AIRBNB rental which was a reasonable price for the 2 months before FLETC. My manager spoke with me and informed in the time before FLETC I'll be doing onboarding paperwork the first couple days and then essentially shadow/asssist coworkers.

For those who have gotten the call, how long did it take for you to receive the written FO? Assuming you have received it already.

My pod is pretty much across the country from where I live. It didn’t sound like going to the closest office would be an option. I was planning to fly there for the time before training but sounds like I’ll need to drive so I have a vehicle. I guess an Airbnb might be the way to go. Hopefully they’ll give more details soon because all I’ve been told so far is my start date, so I have a lot to figure out.

I got the call on Tuesday, 6/7 and was told to expect the FO to come through in the next "couple of days." I received it the following day at 10AM.
How my HR contact explained this to me is "Once you successfully complete your pre-employment steps, CI will reach out to make a verbal offer. If you accept, your acceptance is then communicated to HR who will then send you the offer in writing." I'm assuming there may be a delay between receiving the call and the FO because they're handled by two different functions (CI and HR), which is why the time it takes to receive the FO in writing after the call could vary.

If you are currently gs-7 (RA) and would get hired as gs-7 does the time spent in gs-7 as an RA carry over or would it reset and you would have to spend the full year in gs-7 in CI to move to gs-9?

Your time in grade as an RA does not carry over to CI. If you’re a GS-7 currently you will go in as a GS-7 plus LEAP. You will get your GS-9 after one year in CI.

I received the call last week for a start date of 7/18. With regards to FLETC, they mentioned 7/22 as a potential report date; was this communicated to anyone else? I haven't received anything yet with regard to a FO other than the phone call. Also, just a heads up For those who had to do follow-ups; I had a follow-up for LASIK. I never received confirmation that the documents were received or that I was good to go other than getting a call about a start date. Good luck to those still waiting!
